Four Things on a Friday [3]

Happy 2021! Isn’t is bizarre to be out of 2020, simultaneously the longest + shortest year of our lives? I love this week of the year, that in-between time between Christmas and New Year’s when I’m off work and blissfully unaware of which day of the week it is. This week was mostly focused on relaxing, tidying around the house and getting some content ready for the new year. Target Dresses This year it seems that Target has REALLY stepped up their game when it comes to cute, on trend clothing and I’ve been loving their affordable dress selection. The […]

Favorite Beauty Products of 2020

Though 2020 was the year of being stuck in the house and Zoom calls being the only real reason to dress up, I still managed to test out some new beauty products and collect a small but mighty list of favorites. My favorites this year definitely leaned toward products that were comfortable, more glowy/subtle, and that often pulled double duty. Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Trio| I feel like every influencer under the sun has raved about these and it made me curious to pick up the holiday gift set that came with three from Sephora. I was BLOWN AWAY by […]

Top 2021 Releases I’m Most Excited For (First Half)

One of my FAVORITE posts to write and read are posts highlighting new upcoming releases! Hopefully 2021 brings us less drama, more consistency with release dates, and overall GREAT books! I’ve rounded up my top 8 releases that are coming out between January-June of 2021 that I am the most excited for! I’m also linking up with Top Ten Tuesday for today’s post! You Have a Match (January) | I don’t think anyone who’s read Tweet Cute can deny that Emma Lord is a wonderful addition to the YA author line up, and I’m thrilled to have an ARC of […]

Looking Back On My Most Anticipated Reads of 2020 | How Did They Do?

I LOVE end of the year wrap up posts. Not only are they fun to read, but they’re fun to write too- it’s so helpful to have a digital record on the blog of my roundups from each year, and today I’m going to be looking back at the books I deemed as my most anticipated 2020 releases and see how I ended up feeling about them! For reference, I made two lists of anticipated releases, one for the first half of 2020 and one for the second half of 2020. Not if a book has a half star rating, […]

Top Ten Books of 2020

Top Ten Books of 2020

December is one of my favorite months for blogging because there’s so many fun wrap-up posts to be made and read! Arguably the ~most important~ is the best books of the year lists that everyone comes up with! While this year I didn’t read quite as many books as I had hoped to, I did read many excellent books and the amount of 5 star reads I read this year is over double that of last year! I am thrilled to say that every single book on my “best of” list for 2020 was a strong 5 star rating for […]

YA Mini Reviews: Chasing Lucky + The Voting Booth

I was a little nervous going into Chasing Lucky, because I’ve had mixed luck with Jenn Bennet books. I adored Starry Eyes but never even got around to finishing Serious Moonlight, and I didn’t know where Chasing Lucky would end up on the spectrum of enjoyment for me. Luckily (pun intended), Chasing Lucky proved to be an enjoyable read for me, falling right under Starry Eyes in my ranking of Jenn Bennet books. Chasing Lucky follows protagonist Josie who is returning to her hometown after being gone for several years moving all over the east coast with her mom. She’s […]

Colourpop Black Friday 2020 Haul

I’ve been an avid lover of makeup for most of my teen/adult life, and it’s probably the hobby that I love/indulge in the most aside from books! I usually wait until the end of the year to do most of my cosmetic shopping since there are SO many sales (we literally have a section in our house that we use just for my beauty purchases this time of year, oops!) and this year I definitely indulged in Colourpop! Colourpop is a brand that has so many wonderful things going for it: great quality, drugstore-type pricing, and it’s all made in […]

The Future of Girl in the Pages | 2021 & Beyond

There’s no denying that 2020 has been quite the year. Everyone from every facet in my life has admitted to being burned out, whether it be with work, school, blogging, reading, etc. Just two-ish months into a shiny new decade and everything we knew was flipped upside down, and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that this year has made me reevaluate things. 2020 has made me lean into the unexpected little joys that I love (inside jokes with my husband, old reality tv, organizing my home, etc) and dread things I didn’t realize I would find so difficult […]

The Simple Wild + Wild At Heart + Forever Wild | Reviews

I’ve had The Simple Wild on my radar for a few years now- I feel like it would always pop up on Goodreads as one of my friends was either reading or raving about it (or both!) I knew it was a romance set in Alaska, but that was honestly the extent of my knowledge. I have been having some trouble finding my groove my romance novels lately so I was a little hesitant going in, afraid it was going to be yet another romance everyone loved that I ended up having to DNF. However, I shouldn’t have worried because […]

2020 DNFs: My Year of Failed Romance

2020 may have been many things, but it was certainly a year where I did my best to not pressure myself to read books that I wasn’t feeling. When everything else was so stressful and gloomy, there was no need for reading to be something I was dreading too! However, more often than not I found myself setting aside romance novels than any other genre, a trend I was not anticipating. ALL of my DNFs this year were romance novels, which hurts my heart because I used to adore the genre (I even DNF’d books by authors I had read […]
