Top Ten Authors I Own the Most Books From

Top Ten Authors I Own the Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly feature hosted by the wonderful blog The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s theme is “Top Ten Authors I Own the Most Books From.” (This will be in no particular order for me) 1) Meg Cabot- She is the author of the first YA series I ever read (The Princess Diaries, which I am currently rereading now) and I have stayed pretty faithful to her. I own the Princess Diaries series, the Mediator series, The All American Girl series, The Heather Wells series…basically for a while I would buy whatever she published (not […]

Stacking the Shelves [4]

Stacking the Shelves [4]

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc! I’ve been rather quiet this week, mainly because it’s been busy at work and I’m working 5/7 days (including most of the weekend). Yet I did get one of my most anticipated books of the summer in at the library, and while I was picking up my hold another book caught my eye as well! I’m so excited to read the conclusion of the Grisha trilogy! I unfortunately don’t own […]

Sunday Funday: Week in Review [8]

Sunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back! This week has been more of a productive one and less of a fun one. I’ve been busy with work (although I got an extra day off this weekend, so that was nice!), had to take my car in for some repairs, grocery shop, helped finalize plans for a mini family reunion in two weeks, and catch up on posting some reviews. Currently Reading: So far this is pretty good, although […]

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson- Review

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson- Review

If Sarah Dessen is the Queen of the Contemporary Summer YA Novel, the Matson is hard at work becoming her successor. This is the second novel by Matson I’ve read and her ability to create an immersive summer experience for her characters seems to be her trademark. I read this on the beach while I was at Aulani, and it was the perfect beach read- a light surface story with heavier feelings cloaked beneath the surface. The plot of Second Chance Summer is two-pronged: Taylor’s dad is terminally ill and her family is spending the summer bonding and coming to […]

Stacking the Shelves [3]

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc! So this summer I’ve been working quite a bit to put away money for (hopefully) graduate school, but I’ve also been treating myself occasionally! This week I got two packages from my two favorite places (Nordstrom & Amazon) so it was a good week thanks to UPS. Books I Bought: I was SO excited to order this because The Raven Boys was my first five star read in a few […]

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin My rating: 5/5 Stars! Publisher: Simon & Schuster (2011) Length: 466 pgs Series: Mara Dyer Trilogy, #1 Format: Paperback, purchased from Amazon Goodreads Synopsis: Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can. She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed. There is. She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love. She’s wrong. My Review: Warning: This […]

Nancy Drew: The Sassy Sleuth is Still Relevant Today

My Journey as a Reader with Nancy Drew  Growing up, I was always a voracious reader. Yet there was a pivotal moment in my reading journey that I clearly remember in elementary school. My mom cam home from work one day and gave me my first Nancy Drew book ever, The Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion. That moment fostered a long love for Nancy Drew mysteries that I still have to this day. After that fateful day, I would pester my parents every few weeks, begging them to take me to Costco, where the book section sold the original Nancy […]
