Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added to my TBR

Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added to my TBR

As usual, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic was “Top Ten Books You’ve Recently Added to Your TBR.” My list this week is a mix of old, new, and upcoming releases, including full novels and novellas! 1) None of the Above– A really fascinating looking novel that focuses on a girl who finds out she’s intersex…and how that news impacts and changes her life. 2) Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between– I love Jennifer E, Smith’s romances, and I especially love how the cover of this one coordinates with […]

I Will Go Down With My Ship: Second Edition

I originally launched this feature around Valentine’s Day but it was so much fun that I decided to continue on with it every so often to highlight new ships that I’ve developed! While many of my most desperate ships may not sail, they will, as always, live on in MY heart. Celaena & Chaol from The Throne of Glass Series So I’ve ONLY read through Crown of Midnight so far BUT Celaena and Chaol made me SO HAPPY. I loved that I got to see some romance so early in the series, and it seemed so authentic and something about […]

The Reader Problems Book Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Holly @ The Nut Free Nerd to participate in The Reader Problems Book Tag! Holly was so sweet to nominate me, and you should head over and check out her wonderful posts! (Plus, her blog is a lovely shade of mint green, a color which I absolutely adore). Onto the tag! (Which I’m sure is going to be full of my #firstworldbookproblems) 1) You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next? I think a lot of us have this problem! I usually prioritize by […]

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas | A Review of Redemption

“Then Celaena and the King of Adarlan smiled at each other, and it was the most terrifying thing Dorian had ever seen.” I’ll admit, I was a skeptic. Going in, I was NOT expecting this to be a five star, or even a four star read. I was really underwhelmed by Throne of Glass, and I felt like a total outlier because of it. Everyone raved about the series, so when I was at the bookstore the other day looking for a new paperback, I decided to give the series another shot. And I am SO glad I did, […]

Top Ten Books From My Childhood I’d Like to Revisit

Top Ten Books From My Childhood I’d Like to Revisit

As usual, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic was Top Ten Books From Your Childhood/Teen Years You’d like to revisit. I decided to split my list in half between favorite childhood picture books and middle grade books! Childhood: 1) Madeline– My absolute favorite childhood book, Madeline was my childhood role model. When I was eight I even got to “meet” Madeline at a Nordstrom Madeline brunch, and I had a lifesize Madeline doll! 2) Chicka Chicka Boom Boom– A close runner up for my favorite childhood book, my copy […]

Sunday Funday: Week in Review [27]

Sunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back! March 16-22, 2015 Life This week has been a real roller coaster. Have you ever had a period of time when you were really excited and really nervous at the same time? Or gotten really good news and really bad news close together so you’re not really sure what you’re supposed to feel, as being too happy or too upset seems to extreme? This week has kind of been like that. […]

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski | Review

“People in brightly lit places cannot see into the dark.” How did I not read this book sooner? Sure I’d heard about it enough. I just went about my business, thinking this was nothing more than the usual and currently popular fantasy/dystopian YA love story. I am so delighted to have been proven wrong. I loved everything about this book, from the plot to the characters to the beautiful writing to the Greco-Roman inspired society. I don’t think I’ve been so passionate about a book since I finished Trial By Fire in January. The Winner’s Curse is the book […]

Discussion: The Cover Struggle

I have the epitome of a first world problem. Ever since starting blogging I have become so much more aware of the existence and accessibility of different covers: hardback, paperback, special edition, anniversary, international, etc. With a little research, it’s not too hard to gain access to these various covers either. Thanks to Book Depository, I can order a UK paperback without the long wait for the US one. Or thanks to my B&N membership, I can snag their special edition covers at a discount. A lot of bloggers even swap and trade amongst each other to get the covers […]

Top Ten Books On My Spring 2015 TBR

As usual, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic was SO fun, as it highlights all of the spring releases I’m anticipating! I luckily have some of these pre-ordered already, and am hoping to get my hands on the others, as these are all books I’d love to have my own copies of! The titles are in no particular order, and links go to Goodreads. 1) A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas 2) Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge 3) A Darker Shade of Magic by V. […]

Sunday Funday: San Francisco Edition!

Sunday Funday is my weekly(ish) post recapping the events in my bookish, blogging, and personal life from the past week. This week I’m featuring my trip to San Francisco instead of my usual weekly recap. All photos are my own! Life It was my boyfriend’s birthday this past week so we decided to do something special and take a trip to the city! SF is a city near and dear to my heart, and I love exploring a new aspect of it each time I visit. This trip we decided to pay a visit to the historic City Lights Bookstore, […]
