Bout of Books 11 Update Post

A few days ago I posted about how I will be participating in the Bout of Books 11 Read-a-thon from August 18-24! I’m excited to participate in my first read a thon! This post will be updated daily with my previous day’s progress as well as reiterate my goals for the week!

My Goals for the Week:

-Read the Lux prequel novella Shadows by Jennifer L. Armentrout

– Read at least 3 books I’ve checked out from the library

-Catch up on all of my review posts/ review at least half of the books I read this week

Today was a slower day than I would have liked, mostly due to the fact that I kept getting distracted by my family members! But I am immensely enjoying Cruel Beauty, and I think it’s going to be a new favorite!

Tuesday

Books: Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

I finished Cruel Beauty and really enjoyed it! It’s given me a bit of a book hangover though, so it may be difficult to start a new book and shift my focus!

Wednesday

Books: #scandal by Sarah Ockler

I’m enjoying #scandal more than I thought I would, it almost reads as a satirical to me. I did most of my reading pretty late at night, and I’m hoping to shift more of my reading to daytime for the rest of the week!

Thursday

Total number of books I’ve read: 2 (Cruel Beauty and #scandal)

Books: #scandal by Sarah Ockler and Trouble by Non Pratt

I’m really happy with my progress so far! I may even be able to squeeze in another book before the week’s end! The only problem with reading this fast is being able to keep up with my reviews just as quickly. I’m really pleased with both #scandal and Trouble because they both deal with cyberbulling and slut-shaming, topics that are super relevant today, so I’m glad to see more contemporary authors addressing them!

I was bad today, I didn’t read anything! I took a day trip to visit my brother at college and I can’t read in the car, and by the time I got back home I was so wiped I just went to sleep! I’ve already met a lot of my Bout of Books goals though, so I’m not too worried!
