Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson | Review

I am such a fan of Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series, but for some reason the books I’ve read by her since just haven’t quite hit. That was certainly the case with Not Quite Dead Yet, which rounded out 2025 as my final read. It wasn’t a bad book by any means, but I found a hard time connecting with and caring about the characters, which ultimately made the mystery fall a bit flat for me. Not Quite Dead Yet has an interesting premise: a young woman is afforded the opportunity to solve her own murder. […]

And Now, Back to You | A Restoring My Faith in Contemporary Romance ARC Review

I adored Lovelight Farms when I read it by then-debut author B.K. Borison, but haven’t been able to capture the same magic since. The rest of the Lovelight books were hit and miss for me, and the first Heartstrings book left something to be desired for me personally. However, I’m SO GLAD I gave And Now, Back to You a chance because I adored Jackson and Delilah’s story! Brimstone by Callie Hart | Fae & Alchemy #2 | Review

Look, I will be the first to fully admit I gave this book 5 stars based on vibes. Was it a wild ride riddled with plot holes, random side quests and a lot of waiting around? Yes. Did I also thoroughly enjoy being back in this world and with these characters? Also yes. Picking up pretty soon after where Quicksilver left off, Brimstone follows Saeris & co. navigate their bigger-than-ever problems: Saeris now being the vampire queen, Everlayne being comatose, an evil king, a secret heir, etc. Hart left a lot of open threads at the end of the first […]

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros | The Empyrean #2 | ARC Review

I am such a Fourth Wing stan, so I was excited to dive into Iron Flame and bought a copy as well as downloaded the audio book via my Everand subscription so I could flip back and forth between the formats. This proved to be an excellent choice because once trying the audiobook I was hooked on the narration, and enjoyed a month of excellent narration accompanying me everywhere throughout the day: on my lunch breaks, while doing chores, walking on the treadmill, brushing my teeth- if I could do it with my wireless headphones in, I was! Despite having […]
