Counting the Cost by Jill Duggar | Review

I was actually pretty shocked when I heard that Jill was writing a memoir. Of course, if you’ve followed the Duggars you’ve known for years now that their shine and veneer of “wholesome family content” wore off long ago, and there’s been scandal after scandal in recent years. However, to actually hear it from a direct family member surprised me at first. So while there’s a lot I don’t agree with or align with politically with Jill and Derek, I was still curious to see how everything went down from an insider’s perspective. It’s clear that Jill is going through […]

The Woman In Me by Britney Spears | Review

The Woman In Me by Britney Spears | Review

It feels wrong to rate and review this book in some ways, because it’s such an intensely personal story that Britney has chosen to share. Please know my rating is not a reflection on the book or her experience, but rather my own experience reading it- at times it was hard for me to read because what she went through was truly so, so horrific. And it happened in front of the entire world. If you’ve been a part of or following the Free Britney movement, a lot of what was in the book either wasn’t shocking or wasn’t surprising- […]

Good Spirits by B.K. Borison (Ghosted #1) | Review

I recently read nearly two B.K. Borison books back to back, and one knocked it out of the (Orioles)park…this one however, was a bit of a letdown (ironic considering this is the one I was betting on liking better!) I loooooove a good ghost/paranormal romance, and it doesn’t even have to be that involved with the world building (anyone remember Meg Cabot’s Mediator series?) Making this a twist on A Christmas Carol was even more enticing, and then the cover art came out and I was smitten. Well, the old cliché about not judging a book by it’s cover was true […]

The Strength of the Few by James Islington | Hierarchy #2

*Warning- this review will contain spoilers for The Will of the Many, book 1 in the Hierarchy series*. Nothing like starting off the new year with an absolute brick of a book, amirite? All jokes aside, I started this a few days before the end of 2025 because I knew I’d need the “head start” for this one (and I’m tired of procrastinating on longer novels on my TBR!) I had read The Will of the Many earlier in 2025 and it was a refreshing change to read straight up Fantasy/Sci-Fi (as I’ve been deep in the Romantasy genre for […]

Most Anticipated 2026 Releases (January-June)

Some of my favorite posts to do each year are my most anticipated releases posts, and then look back on them to see how many I actually ended up reading (and how much I liked them!) 2026 seems to be STACKED with great upcoming releases (and honestly some of my most anticipated don’t even come out until the second half of the year!) Oxford Blood | I love a good thriller, I love a good book set in college, and I love the UK so this all = what should be a perfect pick for me! The Younger Gods | […]

January 2026 TBR

Ah, the beginning of the year when a new TBR means a fresh start and we’re not yet crushed under the weight of our increasingly unattainable Goodreads Challenge 😀 In all seriousness, I enjoy making my monthly TBRs, and I find when I make the effort to make them I am pretty likely to read a majority of them! I’m taking a bit of a different approach this year than in years past: instead of just selecting books based on my mood or release date, I’m adding in a randomly selected library and KU title. I feel like when I […]

The Top Five Books I Read in 2025

The Top Five Books I Read in 2025

While I didn’t read as much as I hope this year (as I say every year) these are the top 5 books from the 50+ that I read. They are in no particular order, though I will give some shout outs to honorable mentions at the end! Phantasma | Caraval but make it dark, spicy, and actually interesting. I am always intrigued by books that riff on heaven/hell/biblical things, and I love a white haired MMC. This is more on the pranormal side of Romantasy and I just loved it- the gothic New Orleans setting, the FMC and MMC were […]
