2017 Challenges…Also Known As the Post with the Best Intentions

Reading Challenges are the ultimate failed new year’s resolutions for me. I go in so, so pumped for them and somewhere (usually toward mid to late spring) I end up getting so busy I don’t have time to keep track of them, let alone remember what challenges I signed up for. I’m still reading, sure, but without any real direction and certainly not with any speicifc goal in mind (I’ve turned into a pretty picky mood reader this past year). For 2017, I want to be super picky about the challneges I sign up for, and limit the amount that […]

All About Those Challenges: 2016 Reading Ambitions

Another year, another set of challenges. This year I am aiming for low pressure challenges that will help me to focus on books that I already own and new releases I’ve been anticipating for a while. See below for my list of reading challenges I will be participating in (so far!) for 2016! Goodreads Challenge Goal: 50 Books I haven’t had a Goodreads challenge that decreased the number of books I aimed to read since I started the challenges back in 2011. Last year I finished at 74 books (my goal was 70). Ideally I would like to hit the […]

Nightfall by Jake Halpern and Peter Kujawinski | ARC Review

Boyfriend Book Reviews is a feature where my book-loving boyfriend, Max, reads and reviews YA that I either haven’t yet read or is outside of my current TBR. If you want a thorough and thoughtful perspective on a guy’s take on YA, keep reading! “They soon reached the flag stone path leading to Deep Well House. They could see the white paper hanging from the front door, but it was only when they were a foot away they could read what had been written. It was a single word scrawled in a childlike script: HIDE.” -114 I wanted to like […]

ARC August Recap: When Life Happens

ARC August is hosted by Read. Sleep. Repeat. and this is its third year. The goal is to tackle some of the ARCs on your TBR in a fun and low-key challenge environment. So Sometimes This Little Thing Called Life Happens… In case you haven’t noticed, it’s been quieter than normal over here the past week (and by quiet, I mean I’ve only posted once). That’s because this month I’ve encountered some major life changes, including starting a new job in a new city, moving into a temporary living situation, and hunting for permanent housing to accommodate my new work […]

Bout of Books 13: Participation and Goals!

Bout of Books 13: Participation and Goals!

This is my second time participating in a Bout of Books read-a-thon, a wonderfully low-pressure week where readers and bloggers alike set reading goals and update each other on their progress! I participated in Bout of Books 11 and found that it really helped me be successful in knocking books off of my TBR. Seeing as I have quite a few books coming from pre-orders and ARCs to get through, May is the perfect month for a read-a-thon! The Official Purpose The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the […]

#ReadingMyLibrary Challenge: Week One Update

This is my first update for the #ReadingMyLibrary Challenge hosted by Stefani @ Caught Read Handed and Amy @ Read What I Like. You can check out my sign up post here. It was a short first week, and I was out of town until Friday so I really only started two days ago! Luckily, I was able to pick up my first library hold on my challenge TBR Friday afternoon, The Wrong Side of Right by Jenn Marie Thorne. I have to say I’m really enjoying this one so far. It’s marketed as being similar to Meg Cabot’s Princess […]

Reading My Library Challenge- Sign Up Post

I’m really excited this month to participate in the Reading My Library Challenge, hosted by Stefani @ Caught Read Handed and Amy @ Read What I Like. I have a quite a few books on hold at the library so I thought this would be a great way to get through them and network with more bloggers! The challenge is easy, you can participate as long as you read at least 1 book from your local library during the month of April. My goal is to read at least 4 books, or roughly one per week, from my library. I […]
