I stumbled across this challenge over at Books & Cleverness, and I immediately knew it was a perfect fit for me this summer! ARC August is hosted by Read. Sleep. Repeat. and this is its third year. The goal is to tackle some of the ARCs on your TBR in a fun and low-key challenge environment. Since I acquired quite a few ARCs at ALA, I have plenty to get to in August!
The Rules:
The rules are very simple
- It may be a physical ARC or and eARC but it MUST be an ARC
- Yes it can be an ARC that has released as long as it’s an ARC I’m not going to nit pick much
- HAVE FUN WITH THIS! Feeling like you are being “forced” to read is the best way turn a fun event into a yucky obligation.
- Update post! I personally will do a post for each Saturday in August but that’s just me. You can update once a week, every other week or once for the whole darn event. This update can be in the form of a blog or tumblr post, vlog, link to your “ARC August 2015″ shelf or even an instagram pic! I want to make this as easy and low pressure as possible for you.
Goals:
Perhaps a tad bit ambitious, but I’d love to get to 5 ARCs in the month of August, all of which have either August or September release dates.
TBR:
These are the ARCs I will be choosing from to read:
Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly (Aug.)
Never Said by Carol Lynch Williams (Aug.)
Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales (Sept.)
Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between by Jennifer E. Smith (Sept.)
Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy (Sept.)
Firewalker by Josephine Angelini (Sept.)
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon (Sept.)
I Crawl Through It by A.S. King (Sept.)
Violent Ends by Shaun Hutchinson (Sept.)
Hunter by Mercedes Lackey (Sept.)
Are you participating in ARC August?
Good luck! I thought about participating but I actually have way more R&R’s that aren’t necessarily ARC’s to get through so I’m doing more of a R&R August sort of thing!

August seems like a good month to get caught up on your TBR, ARCs or otherwise; I’ve seen a lot of reading challenges for August. Good luck on your R&R’s!
This sounds like an awesome event! I might join… Good luck with all your ARCS, I hope you read Hello Goodbye and Everything Inbetween, Dumplin’, Hunter or Everything Everything. I will most likely read Everything Everything for this event.
I hear Everything, Everything is fantastic, I’m hoping to get to it ASAP!
What a fun challenge! I’m going to do this, too, I think! I think I’m going to read Hunter soon. I ready Everything, Everything and it is SO GOOD. One of my absolute favourite reads of the year.
I keep hearing that about Everything, Everything. So much buzz around it but it all seems to be good! Fingers crossed that I like it! 🙂
Good luck! I am debating about doing this but I only have a few ARCs now that I really need to read.
Thank you! I decided it would be a fun way to get more integrated in the bookish community by participating, as challenges always seem to bring people together!
I feel like I SHOULD participate! I’m so bad about reading ARCs on time lately.
DO IT! We can read Firewalker together!
I’m participating!! Great list, I wish I had a copy of Everything, Everything and Hunter!
Everything, Everything was truly amazing! (I ended up reading it earlier than expected in July).
