Stuck in the Past

I’ve hit a weird spot in my blogging/reading life. I’m at a point where all I feel like doing is rereading old favorites. Like, really old favorites. I suppose it started when I was unpacking old books from my recent move and placing them on my shelves, and have the strong and sudden urge to reread The A-List series. I immediately took to Twitter to see if anyone was interested in reading them along with me, and was met with enthusiastic participation by none other than my bookish and blogger other half, Lauren. As we’ve started rereading the series over […]

The Princess Diaries Re-Read: Volumes 4-5

This is the second installment in my Princess Diaries Re-Read self-challenge in order to prepare for The Royal Wedding, which comes out in June! In this post I’ll be bundling my reviews for books 4, 4.5, and 5. Princess in Waiting (4)- This is the epitome of a bridge book. Taking place primarily over winter break while Mia’s stuck in Genovia, it’s mainly Mia obsessing over Micheal’s feelings for her. It reminded me of why these books can be slightly neurotic, but I also have to admit that at 14 years old I obsessed over rather inconsequential stuff myself. Some […]

The Princess Diaries Reread & The Start of My YA Love Affair: Books 1-3

If you’ve been visiting my blog for a while, you’ve probably heard me mention my love for Meg Cabot’s Princess Diaries series. When I found out that she was publishing a continuation, adult novel in the series, I knew it was time for me to revisit the series- and I do mean the whole series. I own all of the novels, all but one of the novellas (before e-books, when they used to be published in tiny little paperbacks) and all of the companion how-to guides. I even recently started re-buying the novels in the newer paperback covers because my […]

The 2015 Re-Read Challenge Sign Up Post!

As I embark on my second year of blogging, I’m excited to take part in more challenges in order to push myself to read more and to better track my reading. The Re-Read Challenge hosted by So Obsessed With and Belle of the Literati is the second challenge I’ve signed up for this year and I’m so excited! Reasons for Participation: To motivate myself to write reviews of books I re-read To re-read books from series I started a while ago and never finished (and thus cannot read the new installments because I can’t remember what happened previously) To return […]

Top Ten Books I Want to Reread

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and the Bookish. I’m really excited about this week’s topic because I am a huge advocate of rereading. I think finding a book with a story that really resonates with you is one of the most rewarding things about reading, and good books are something that I wish to revisit over and over again, especially series that make me feel invested in the characters. Although the amount of rereading I do has lessened since starting my blog (mainly because I’m much better equipped to try out […]
