Can you believe that it’s already November? NOVEMBER. As in the start of the winter holiday season, the sixty day countdown to the end of the year, and the last minute scramble to get the essentials marked off your TBR lists before we’re hit with a slew of amazing 2017 releases! I’ve seen a lot of bloggers making end of 2016 TBRs and I think it’s a great way to prioritize what books to grab for over the next few weeks.
Luckily, I’m almost done with my Goodreads 2016 Challenge (48/50 books completed so far!) and my reading tends to pick up around the holidays as I’m not working as much overtime as I do the rest of the year. I figure there’s a good chance I can get at least 6 out of the 8 books below read (I could probably read them all, but I also have to take into account that I’ve pretty much turned into a giant mood reader.)
So, without further ado, here are the 8 books I’m hoping to get through before the end of 2016!
I know, some of these books I CANNOT believe I still haven’t read (such as The Raven King which has the most stunning cover, or Lady Midnight which I ran out to Target and bought the day it was released, but have I read it yet? Noooo).
Are any of the above books ones you’ve neglected to get to yet? What’s your number one book you’ve sworn that you’ll read before the end of 2016? Let me know in the comments!!
Oh my goodness, 2016 is almost gone already! I think I’m 8 behind on my Goodreads challenge so some major R&R reading is going to happen during Thanksgiving and winter break. Good luck finishing your challenge, Cristina!
Thank you, Laura! The holidays always mean more reading time for me, however I’m hoping my mood reading won’t get in the way of this TBR!
I’ve heard such good things about “Holding Up The Universe”- I hope to get it from my library, too! Good luck keeping up with your TBR!
Thank you!!!! I know it should be manageable but I can be such a mood reader…
Love this!!! I definitely have books I said I would read before the end of the year but I won’t get to them all. my # 1 is Harry Potter!!! I hope you love Carry On if you get to it. Good luck!!
Thank you! I feel like Carry On has major HP vibes, so I’m hoping I will like it! I still haven’t been able to bring myself to read Cursed Child…
I also need to read CROOKED KINGDOM before the year ends! It’s my most anticipated release for 2016 and maybe that’s the reason why I keep putting it off xD
Right?? Sometimes it’s those most anticipated books that I end up putting on the back burner for some reason. I think there’s a lot of expectation and pressure there and sometimes it’s easier not to deal.
Good luck! I think I also want to read Crooked Kingdom before 2016 is over 🙂
Thank you! Here’s hoping that we both get to it soon!
Oh, you must read CROOKED KINGDOM! It is absolutely amazing, and brilliant, and just perfection <3 I, too, actually have to read THE RAVEN KING. I meant to read it when it came out, but I really wanted to reread the first three before I dove into that one! Here's to hoping we both get it read before the end of 2016!
I am actually almost with done with the Raven King right now and am having SUCH mixed emotions about it! I hope you get a chance to get to it soon too!
[…] is going to be the month where all of the fun holiday stuff really kicks off, and where I start frantically trying to finish my end of the year priority TBR as well as trying to catch up on all of the reviews I neglected to write in 2016. Can you guys […]
A lot of pretty covers on there! I hope the content inside is just as good!
Fingers crossed here as well!
I legit can not believe how quickly time is going. Like, didn’t we just kick off 2016 a few months ago?! How can it be almost over?? In any case, I really hope you get to Raven King soon – gah! I loved that book ♥ I really want to get to Gemina soon too – hopefully by year’s end we’ll both have read it 😀
AHHH I am like 75% through the Raven King right now and there are already so many ~feels~
I’m very nearly finished Crooked Kingdom and I am ABSOLUTELY loving it.
These Shallow Graves needs to be higher up on your list, it’s superb!
I just finished These Shallow Graves last week and I really enjoyed it! I feel like I so rarely pick up historical fiction, but when I finally get around to it I remember how much I always enjoy it!
