Bookish Bingo New Year’s Edition: Wrap Up

March 31 marked the end of my second time participating in Bookish Bingo! I had a lot of fun with the card this time, and filled 15 out of 25 squares, earning 1 bingo! (And being so so close to earning more!) I liked that it helped diversify my reading a bit, although I found that a lot of my selections already met at least one criteria for the card. Completed: 15/25 “Pretty Dress Cover”: The One by Kiera Cass 2014 Release You Missed: Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini Romance: Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell Start a Series: […]

I Will Go Down With My Ship: My Favorite Fictional Couples

In honor of Valentine’s day this week, I decided a post dedicated to my favorite YA couples was in order! Sadly, many of my most desperate ships did not sail, but they are alive in well in MY heart (and in the glorious world of fanfiction). Blair & Nate from Gossip Girl Can we just pretend that the last four seasons of the show never happened? Because I have been a Nair shipper since the veryyyy beginning, and this whole Chuck and Blair storyline was SO improbable to me (and had NO validation in the books- the epilogue book doesn’t […]

Girl in the Pages Anniversary Celebration & Giveaway!

I cannot believe that I’ve been blogging for an entire year! On February 6, 2014 I decided to launch Girl in the Pages, encouraged after having experienced a Harry Potter study abroad course to London and realizing I had so much I wanted to say about the books I love to read! While I initially started this blog as a way to organize my thoughts on the books I’ve read, it’s grown and flourished because of you. Every reader, every follower, every like, every comment…it’s all driven me to continue with this blog, to create a brand and teach myself […]

The TBR Tag!

The lovely Nirvana over at Nirvana’s Pocketful tagged me last month to do the TBR Tag. Although I’m just now getting around to it, it works out perfectly because with the beginning of the new year I’ve been doing more of an inventory of my TBR! How do you keep track of your TBR pile? Goodreads is the easiest way to keep track of everything! Of the physical books I own but need to read, I place them horizontally on my bookshelf so I know that they haven’t been read yet! Is your TBR mostly print or e-books? Mostly print! […]

Holiday Tour!

Since we’re in the thick of the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to showcase the holiday decorations happening at my house! My family really likes decorating for the holidays, and there’s nothing to really get you into the spirit like lights and garland everywhere! Above is our main tree in our family room, where the family presents go and where we gather around on Christmas morning with friends and family. Each member of the family is assigned a certain wrapping paper theme (mine, for instance, is the Disney princess paper). My favorite place to read in the […]

The lovely Jackie over at She Reads She Blogs tagged me for the Fictional Boyfriends Tag! The tag was originated by RayKay Books and you can check it out on their youtube channel here. Feel free to participate if the tag interests you, and link back in the comments so I can check out your answers! 1)Most Romantic Boyfriend: Edward from Twilight. Halloween Reads, Part 1

Now that September is over half-way through, my giddiness for the fall season is mounting (despite the fact that there’s a heatwave passing through…). Fall means late night bonfires, crisp air, wearing all of those boots neglected in my closet, and (my favorite part) Halloween! I’ve always been a huge huge huge fan of Halloween and all of the whimsical magic that comes with the holiday. I want to start getting myself in the mood for the season, so I’ve gathered all of the thriller/paranormal/creepy books on my shelves at the moment and challenge myself to integrate them into my […]
