Most Anticipated 2026 Releases (January-June)

Some of my favorite posts to do each year are my most anticipated releases posts, and then look back on them to see how many I actually ended up reading (and how much I liked them!) 2026 seems to be STACKED with great upcoming releases (and honestly some of my most anticipated don’t even come out until the second half of the year!)

Oxford Blood | I love a good thriller, I love a good book set in college, and I love the UK so this all = what should be a perfect pick for me!

The Younger Gods | I’ve been intrigued with all things mythology since I was a kid, and this one features a priestess + God set in the Underworld…what’s not to love?

King of Ravens | I’m in my Romantasy era, OK? But I will be the first to admit the genre is very oversaturared, so I’m picky with which new releases I pick up. This one, however, caught my eye when I read “fae King of the Dead.” Another Underworld setting!

Throne of Nightmares | The installments of this series always makes my most anticipated lists (even though I am behind and haven’t read last year’s yet). I always pre-order the special edition B&N covers withut even reading the synopses, lol. I just think each one featuring a different prince of hell is so unique!

Half City | This one sounds like it’s going to be Shadowhunters + Dark Academia (but make it more grown up).

And Now, Back To You | B.K. Borison books seem to be very hit or miss to me, but when they hit they hit. Even though I loved the premise of the first book in her sophomore series I didn’t love the romance, but I’m hoping that changes here- I loved the snippets we got in the first book of Jackson, the charmingly neurotic weatherman!

The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives | I love historical fiction and this seems like such a fun yet dark and irreverent read!

The Thorn Queen | One of my most anticipated sequels of the year! Victorian era historical fiction + romantasy!

Cherry Baby | I haven’t read anything by Rainbow Rowell in a hot minute (aka years) but the premise of this one sounds intriguing, plus I love a good second chance romance.

The Undergrads: Student Union | Same as above, I haven’t read anything by Julie Murphy in a while, but this book seems like it’s kicking off a new college series AND this one has a marriage of convenience so of course it’s on my TBR!
