Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc!
Purchased
I’ve been slowly making utilizing my giftcards from Christmas and picked up two books from Barnes & Noble this week that I’ve had my eye on for a few months now. The Book of Ivy has a gorgeous cover and has a plot that reminds me a lot of the show Revenge. Damsel Distressed is a Cinderella based retelling and I can’t wait to read it for the Fairy Tale Retelling Challenge!
Borrowed
I was so excited when my copy of The Darkest Part of the Forest came in at my local library! I was scared I’d have to wait on a long list to get my hands on it. I’ve heard many, many great things about this novel from a lot of bloggers and ever since reading her short story in My True Love Gave to Me, I’ve been itching to read more by Holly Black!
What did you add to your shelves this week? Let me know in the comments!
These covers are gorgeous <3 They're really making me want to get my hands on copies. I hope you enjoy them! 😀
Thank you! Hopefully I’ll get to read one of them for National Readathon day today!
Damsel in Distress’s cover tho ♥_♥ I’ve been eyeing Book of Ivy for a while now. I hope it’s good. Enjoy your books! Happy reading 😀
I’m about half way through The Book of Ivy, and it’s interesting but sort of slow so far…Damsel Distressed has SUCH a beautiful cover, I was kind of glad my library didn’t have it because it gave me an excuse to buy it!
I love the cover of The Book of Ivy! And I’m not sure whether I want to pick up The Darkest Part of the Forest. I’ve heard good things and it sounds interesting but I didn’t really like Holly Black’s story in my True Love Gave to Me. Maybe that was only because it wasn’t as much of a christmas romance as the others, though. 🙂
Since I did like her short story it made me want to try one of her novels! I also have heard good things about her book The Coldest Girl in Coldtown. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
The Darkest Part of the Forest has definitely been getting a LOT of hype so I’m a little wary of what to expect going in. The cover is definitely what drew me to the book ivy, but I will admit it’s a little slow so far!
Yay! Damsel Distressed<3 I have that, but I've yet to read it, but I really want to. I hope you enjoy all of your books.
I love the cover! It’s so pretty and it will count toward the fairytale re-reading challenge I’m participating in 🙂
Enjoy your books! I have gift cards I need to use too, but I’m hoarding them until something I really want comes along. I’m working on a few projects (like organizing my books) so I’m trying not to bring *too* many books into the house until I get them done.
Organizing as in re-shelving? I find that once I actually obtain giftcards it’s hard for me to part with them because I am always wondering if something will come along that I enjoy more!
Great books this week! Damsel Distressed was really, really good – plus, super cute cover! And The Darkest Part of the Forest is probably going to be one of my favorite reads for this year, already! SO, good! Definitely different from everything else that is out there right now – I hope you enjoy it 🙂
I’m really excited about Damsel Distressed because I think it’s one that hasn’t gotten very much attention, but the people who have read it have raved about how good it is. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Great haul! The Darkest Part of the Forest sounds pretty good though I’ve never read anything by Holly Black before. I hope that you enjoy your books. 🙂

I’m excited to try Holly Black, I’ve heard great things about her novel “The coldest girl in coldtown.” Thanks for stopping by!
LOVED both Damsel Distressed and The Darkest Part of the Forest. I highly recommend both, for sure.
I’m really excited to read both of them…I think my only regret may be not owning a copy of the Darkest part of the forest!
I can’t wait for review of Damsel Distressed! I love fairytale retellings, but there are so many out there today I’ve grown a bit weary of trying to swim through all the choices.
I agree, there are SO many retellings out there (it was a huge trend in 2014) that it’s hard to distinguish which ones to read!
