King of Ravens by Clare Sager (Upon a Broken Throne #1) | Review

Posted April 6, 2026 in Books, Reviews / 0 Comments

I am clearly overly optimistic in this era of Romantasy oversaturation, but I still do get SO excited when I hear about an interesting new Romantasy title. Sure, Fae books are a dime a dozen these days, but then I hear phrases like “King of the Dead” and I’m reeled right in. King of Ravens follows Rhiannon, a chronically ill 30-something year old who’s home bound due to her illness and has had to make peace with her limited life. However, a series of events leads to her being taken to the Underworld by the Fae King of the Dead […]

Brimstone by Callie Hart | Fae & Alchemy #2 | Review

Posted February 9, 2026 in Books, Reviews / 0 Comments

Look, I will be the first to fully admit I gave this book 5 stars based on vibes. Was it a wild ride riddled with plot holes, random side quests and a lot of waiting around? Yes. Did I also thoroughly enjoy being back in this world and with these characters? Also yes. Picking up pretty soon after where Quicksilver left off, Brimstone follows Saeris & co. navigate their bigger-than-ever problems: Saeris now being the vampire queen, Everlayne being comatose, an evil king, a secret heir, etc. Hart left a lot of open threads at the end of the first […]

Quicksilver by Callie Hart | Review

It’s an amazing feeling when you go into a book with high expectations from all of the hype, and they end up being 100% met. That was my experience with Quicksilver, the book that had the romantasy community in a chokehold in 2024. I was eager but also a little dubious considering the recent boom in romantasy titles (it feels like the general population just discovered ACOTAR in the past year or two and I’m like the real ones pre-ordered it ten years ago XD) and with an extreme surge in popularity and mainstream attention can definitely spur many lackluster […]

Forget Me Not by Julie Soto | ARC Review

In a world over-saturated with illustrated romance covers, this one stopped me in my tracks. I found it stunning, and almost water-color like, completely different from the cartoony covers that are so popular in romance these days (which I love too!) THEN I heard that the author, Julie Soto, cut her teeth writing Dramione fanfiction, including one that’s very high on my TBR (The Auction) and I knew I had to read this one. Set in Sacramento, California (the first time I’ve read a book set in California’s capitol!), Forget Me Not centers on two protagonists who are in the […]

Rom Com Reviews | Meet Cute and Red, White & Royal Blue

Last year I read my first Helena Hunting novel and thoroughly enjoyed it despite not usually being a fan of sports novels. It was fun, a quick read, and had a steamy romance. I was expecting more of the same from Meet Cute, but found it to be a much heavier novel filled with a lot more heart. Kailyn and Daxton meet in law school where Kailyn has a series of embarrassing interactions with him as he’s the star of her favorite CW-esque show (as would I if I had run into Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl or Chad Michael […]

The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting | ARC Review

You know when you never knew you needed something in your life, and then once you’ve experienced it you don’t know how you managed to live without it? Well that’s pretty much where I’m at with hockey player centered romances, thanks to The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting. Two days after finishing and I still can’t stop thinking about it, despite not knowing a single thing about hockey or having ever really read this genre of romance novel before. The Good Luck Charm has a second chance romance at its center, following Lilah, a nurse in her mid twenties […]
