Sunday Funday: Week in Review [20]

Sunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back! December 15-21, 2014 Life These past few weeks have been really busy! I spent Thanksgiving with my boyfriend’s family for the first time, which was lovely and on Black Friday we drove to the coast to explore the sights and shops. Then we braved Target to hunt for Black Friday deals *coughbookscough* and I scooped up a few new titles (which you can see in my STS post) and my boyfriend […]

Stacking the Shelves [13]

Stacking the Shelves [13]

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc! This is actually what I’ve accumulated over the past few weeks! I scooped up Dorothy Must Die and The One at Target on Black Friday (hardcover, both for under $10!) and was gifted The Book Thief by my aunt. I haven’t read any of these yet so I’m really excited to get around to them (probably not until after the holidays though!) I was also gifted my aunt’s collection of […]

The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu- Review

“There is one thing I’ve learned about people: they don’t get that mean and nasty overnight. It’s not human nature. But if you give people enough time, eventually they’ll do the most heartbreaking stuff in the world.” I have SO much to say about this book, and I’m going to do my best to coherently organize my thoughts. I’ve been waiting a long time to read this novel, specifically because of the subject matter. I think there’s not enough YA books that look at society’s problems with teenage sexaulity, and the stigmas, rumors, and slut shaming that go along with […]

Holiday Tour!

Since we’re in the thick of the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to showcase the holiday decorations happening at my house! My family really likes decorating for the holidays, and there’s nothing to really get you into the spirit like lights and garland everywhere! Above is our main tree in our family room, where the family presents go and where we gather around on Christmas morning with friends and family. Each member of the family is assigned a certain wrapping paper theme (mine, for instance, is the Disney princess paper). My favorite place to read in the […]
