Disney Dream Honeymoon Part 1

As many of you probably know, I recently got married! After a year and a half of planning we had the most wonderful wedding and the Disney Honeymoon of our dreams! It’s no secret that we are huge Disney people, and Disney has played a role in many of our major life moments (we got engaged at Aulani, I had my bachelorette in Disneyland, etc.) So it was really a no-brainer that continuing the Disney tradition for our honeymoon was the right decision for us. We also love Disney vacations because they’re so low stress- everything you want and need […]

Love & Luck by Jenna Evans Welch | ARC Review

*A huge thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review!* When I saw the corresponding cover of Love & Luck that matched Welch’s charming debut novel, Love & Gelato, I knew I wanted to read it. When I found it out was a spin off of Love & Gelato featuring the protagonist’s best friend, I knew I HAD to read it. I devoured Love & Luck quickly in one short weekend, and have officially decided that Jenna Evans Welch would be my ideal YA European tour guide, and I sincerely hope […]

YallWest Round 3 | Everything is Better with a Book Squad

YallWest Round 3 | Everything is Better with a Book Squad

YallWest is my FAVORITE weekend of the year, combining books+friends+California (what more can you ask for?) Attending since its inaugural year in 2015, Max and I somehow managed to squeeze in a whirlwind trip admist a very busy work month for the both of us, and it’s safe to say that is was the BEST YallWest we’ve attended yet! As usual, we chose to drive because I’m not about my books getting smashed in the overhead bin of an airplane. So we headed out around 7am (we had intentions to leave at 5am…but you know how that goes). After a […]

YALLWest Round 2: A Quintessentially California Tradition

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that last year I attended the inaugural YALLWest, the exclusively YA California book festival that takes place in Santa Monica every spring (affectionately deemed “Bookchella” least year since it was the same weekend as Coachella). It was my first big “bookish” event with other bloggers, authors, and publishers and I had one of the best weekends of my life. Needless to say, I knew I would be attending the sophomore year of the festival, and found it to be just as amazing, with even more structure, organization, and additions […]

ALA San Francisco 2015 Recap & Giveaway!

ALA San Francisco 2015 Recap & Giveaway!

To kick off my two week vacation/hiatus, I attended ALA Annual this year, hosted in San Francisco the last week of June. I heard about ALA at the beginning of the year when my lovely friend Kay @ It’s A Book Life posted about attending ALA Midwinter, and on a whim looked up where the next one would be (never expecting it to be near me because a majority of bookish events seem to not happen on the West Coast). To my surprise and delight, I learned that in June ALA’s annual conference would be held in San Francisco, driving […]

Tinkerbell 10K Run at the Disneyland Resort

Occasionally I like to feature other things on my blog aside from my bookish endeavors. If you’ve been reading for a while you probably know that I’m a huge Disney fan, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity to participate in Disneyland’s annual Tinkerbell Half Marathon weekend. My aunt and I headed down to compete in my first ever race, the Tinkerbell 10K on Saturday (she did the half marathon two years ago). The race started at 5:30am, and we started with the A group (runners are placed according to their average mile time). It started in downtown Disney […]

YALLWEST Tips, Tricks, & Giveaway

Thinking about attending YALLWEST next year? Last week I posted all about my experience at the first ever YALLWEST, the companion festival to the east coast’s Yallfest. It was my first time going to a convention/festival as a blogger, and while I had a great time with a lot of fun surprises, I also did quite a bit of planning and preparing! After attending, I decided to compile a post with tips and tricks to make sure you get the most out of your YALLWEST (or any other bookish event, really) experience, as well as things I wished I had […]

YALLWEST: A Glorious Southern California Weekend

This past weekend I was ridiculously happy and fortunate to be able to attend California’s first ever YALLWEST, the West Coast companion event to the extremely popular YALLFest event every year in South Carolina. I found out about this festival a few months ago and IMMEDIATELY knew I was going, no matter what. I booked a hotel, asked Max if he’d like to come along (henceforth known on my blog as “The Bookish Boyfriend,” as he’s certainly earned the title after assisting me all weekend!) and my plan was set, come hell or high water. After so many months of […]

Sunday Funday: San Francisco Edition!

Sunday Funday is my weekly(ish) post recapping the events in my bookish, blogging, and personal life from the past week. This week I’m featuring my trip to San Francisco instead of my usual weekly recap. All photos are my own! Life It was my boyfriend’s birthday this past week so we decided to do something special and take a trip to the city! SF is a city near and dear to my heart, and I love exploring a new aspect of it each time I visit. This trip we decided to pay a visit to the historic City Lights Bookstore, […]

Sunday Funday: Week in Review [23]

Sunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back! February 2-8, 2015 Life This week I had a whirlwind mini-vacation to the coast where it was unseasonably sunny and beautiful. I was able to reconnect with a lot of my college friends and professors and had an absolutely wonderful time soaking up the sunshine and doing some tourist-y activities! I toured some really cool historic ships in the harbor, tried a lot of new food thanks to my best friends […]
