Stats:

Total Books Read: 5

Total Novellas Read: 1

Rereads: 0

Favorite Book Read This Month: Queen of Shadows is everythinggg. Rowan is bae.

Least Favorite Book Read This Month: The Distance Between Us by Kasie West was a little underwhelming after how may people assured me it would change my mind after my lackluster experience with The Fill In Boyfriend.

Book that Most Surprised Me This Month: Remembrance by Meg Cabot was so much fun, but a bit dissappointing in the sense that it was super formulaic and didn’t bring much new content to the table from how the YA Mediator plots played out (review to come)!

Updates About My Life This Month

March started out relatively slow, but got insane toward the end as I headed into a mini busy season at work. I’m keeping up with my Goodreads challenge though, which is fantastic (although now it means I have a backlog of reviews to write, the problems of being a fast reader!) April has a LOT of incredible things in store, and I’m doing something exciting almost every weekend. I’ll be seeing Emery Lord speak about her new novel When We Collided, I’m heading to YALLWest for the second year in a row (and it seems that it’s going to be even bigger and more incredible this year!) and…I’m going to HARRY POTTER LAND (aka the Wizarding World of Harry Potter that they’re opening in California this month). It was a total surprise trip sprung on us by Max’s incredible family, and we CANNOT WAIT (although I’ll probably have to get up at the crack of dawn to get in line but TOTALLY WORTH IT). Can you tell I’m excited? 😉

This past month I’ve also started getting more and more into bookstagram. I’m participating in the #novelnellie2016 challenge and it’s really pushing me to test out my creative limits and be artistic! I’m having so much fun and I love that it’s a community that is so beautiful, friendly, and easy to keep up with when I’m on the go!

April means warmer weather, a new season, and many coveted book releases! Do you have anything exciting (bookish or otherwise) on your schedule for April? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Your April sounds jam packed! I hope you have an amazing month! I would love to go to the Wizarding World! Maybe next year! I would love to go to Yallwest! I haven’t been and I am definitely jealous! 🙂 I read When We Collided and I loved it! I’m writing my review soon! Now, I’m off to go check out your bookstagram!

    • Thank you so much for the kind comment, Alicia! I have really been loving integrating myself more into the bookstagram community over the past few weeks 🙂 Yallwest is such an amazing festival, I really hope you have the chance to participate in it sometime soon! (This is only the second year, but I think it will stick around for many more years to come!)

  2. I’m so excited for it to get warmer, honestly! I just need some lovely weather in my life right now. Ahem. Sounds like you’re going to have an exciting month! I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in California; it was a magical experience for me when I went in Orlando. Very excited for you. Happy April!

    • Thank you, Alexa! Unfortunately the warm weather has ended for now, as a rain storm just rolled in (April showers, I suppose?) but since it’s California I’m sure that it will pass soon enough. Crossing my fingers for blue skies for the Wizarding World of HP!

  3. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying the Throne of Glass series so much! For me, Queen of Shadows was kind of a disappointment. I still loved it very much but the characters all felt so changed and like strangers to me and it made me really sad. And while I love Rowan as a character, I will always ship Chaolaena. 😀

    • I definitely agree with you that QOS has a very different feel to it, especially with the MC (because she’s literally taken on a new identity). However, for me that worked in my favor since I had a hard time with the first book in the series. Do you think you will continue on with Empire of Storms?
