Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc!
Bought:
This week I purchased Red Queen (which I’ve already read and had mixed feelings about!) and was gifted Crown of Midnight…which I’m curious for, since Throne of Glass left me with a lot of complicated feelings! I’ve definitely added some fantasy reads to my shelf this week! I also purchased an e-copy of Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout because it was on sale for $1.99 and it was the only book in the Lux series that I didn’t own!
What did you add to your shelves this week?
I have a copy of the Red Queen to read, but I don’t seem to be rushing to it because I’ve heard mixed things. I hope you enjoy Crown of Midnight and the rest of your new books! 🙂
Red Queen is definitely a mixed bag, so I would recommend not reading it right away if you can only devote attention to one book (I read it at the same time as a reread I knew I would enjoy so I could take little breaks when it got slow).
I added Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight to my shelves this week, I bought them on my Kindle for $1. I’m so excited. I also added quite a few more Kindle books to my shelves and around 5 new physical books too! I really want to purchase Red Queen soon! Maybe in the month of March.
That’s such a great price for the TOG series! I’m hoping to get caught up reading them before the fourth one comes out 🙂
I know right! I had to look at it for a while to make sure it was real! What book are you up to? Heir of Fire? 🙂
I’ve actually only read the first one, and it was sort of a middle of the road read for me, but I hear the series gets better with each installment so I’m still investing in the physical copies (plus the covers are so fierce looking!)
The covers are beautiful, I agree. Yeah I hope they are good books and if they do get better as the series continues that will be good!
Crown of Midnight is really good! I’ve been wanting to read The Red Queen for so long! Or at least it seems like it 🙂 I’ve read a bunch of really good reviews though! Happy Reading!

I think Red Queen is one of those books that really varies from person to person if they enjoy it!
I adore the Red Queen cover (I love white on book covers, I think they should use it more), however, although I’ve seen all the promotion and ARC blitz following it I’m not sure I’m interested in picking it up. Sure would look pretty on a bookshelf though!
I still need to get round to reading Throne of Glass, I’ve wanted to for ages! If it’s any consolation, from the reviews I’ve read people’s feelings and ratings seem to improve as the series goes along from what I’ve seen. 🙂
Red Queen was…a very middle of the road read for me. It has a gorgeous cover to be sure, which admittedly drew me to it (along with all of the marketing buzz!) but it definitely didn’t stand out from other books it its genre. I’ve heard the same thing about the Throne of Glass series, so hopefully it gets better because I WANT to love it so bad since everyone is always so excited about it!
I actually just finished ToG series! Enjoy !!!!!!!
Come and check out OUaT’s STS and ENTER our giveaways!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
RED QUEEN SOUNDS SO GREAT. I don’t know why I haven’t already picked up my own copy! I’ve been meaning to read the Throne of Glass series too. I really need to get on that.
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Red Queen got a lot better at the end for most people, but I’m not the *biggest* dystopian fan so I think that impacted by enjoyment of it too since it relied on a lot of tropes. If you love dystopian you’ll probably love it though!
Red Queen seems to be the rage with both good and bad thought spread around the blogosphere. I won a copy and plan on reading it soon to find out for myself. Happy reading.

Whether good or bad, Red Queen definitely had a good marketing campaign to get bloggers and reviewers talking about it!
