Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is “Top Ten Books on Your Fall TBR List.” I decided to compile my list with books that I either do not own or have not been released yet, and mostly books that have been released recently or will be later on in the fall!
1) The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- My number one most anticipated book this fall. I cannot WAIT to see how this trilogy ends, it’s my favorite series that I’ve discovered this year!
2) Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater- Another series that I’ve invested in and can’t wait to see what happens next! I also love the magic aspects in this series, it has an almost dreamlike quality.
3) Trial By Fire by Josephine Angelini- I’ve seen great reviews about this on many blogs and I love the concept of multiple universes existing! I’m also enthralled by anything based on the Salem Witch Trial.
4) The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare- Because Magnus is fabulous and I need my Shadowhunter fix.
5) Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout- I’m excited to try something by her aside from the Lux series, and I’m excited about the New Orleans setting!
6) Salt and Storm- Another witch book! There’s a theme here, and I do love my paranormal fantasy.
7) Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer- I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about this novel, but I’m a big fan of Sylvia Plath and I’m curious to see how a YA book uses writing as a central plot point. It seems to be one of those books you have to read yourself and make your own decision about!
8) I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson- I’ve literally seen only five star reviews across the board for this new release, and everyone has assured me it’s a book that impacts readers emotionally.
9) A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray- The cover has caught my attention from the moment I first came across this book, and the idea of different identities and stories across different universes has me hooked!
10) Die For Me by Amy Plum- Not a new release, and not a book I’ve heard a lot about, but I read the synopsis and loved the idea of “revenants,” supernatural, undead beings who have to sacrifice themselves over and over.
Are any of these titles on high priority TBR list for Fall? Let me know in the comments! Link back to your TTT and I’ll be sure to check it out!
I am so excited about The Retribution of Mara Dyer. I can’t wait to find out what is going on. I really enjoyed Die for Me. I hope you like it too and the rest of the books on your Fall TBR!
I’m so glad that someone else is excited about the third book as I am! I feel like the series is such a mixed bag for readers and they either love it or hate it, and I’m definitely one that absolutely adores it!
None of these made it onto my TTT post but Trial By Fire, Salt and Storm, Belzhar, I’ll Give You The Sun, and A Thousand Pieces of You are all books I really REALLY want to read this year!! Hopefully I’ll read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer next month. I put myself on a book buying ban and I because I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle not having The Evolution of Mara Dyer to read right after.
My TTT
Good idea, it’s SO hard to read Mara Dyer without needing to know what is going to happen next! Best to wait until the series is out and then you can experience all the books together!
Mara Dyer! I totally forgot about that on my list! When is it out anyway? I’m also really excited to read Jennifer Armontrout’s new book but after I finish the Lux series, I just finished rereading Origin in preparation for Opposition, BRING IT ON!
I believe the last Mara Dyer installment comes out in November! Origin was SO good, that Opposition paled a little in comparison (but it was still good!) Thanks for stopping by!
BLUE LILY!! AND MARA DYER! Everyone who doesn’t have those on their list is just wrong! Those books have to be there! 😀
I hope the last Mara Dyer book was worth waiting for. It’s just evil to let us wait this long after that ending of the second book!
I definitely want to read I’ll give you the sun but I haven’t read her other book yet (which I already own). So I’m making me read that one first before I buy another one by her. (even though this one sounds better :D)
I know! The second Mara Dyer book ended with such a twist (it practically changed genres!) and so my expectations are pretty high for the last one! I haven’t read anything else by Jandy Nelson either, so I’ll have to check out her first novel!
You picked some awesome titles and I dunno what we’ll do because a ton of good books are coming out and I, personally, want them all. Happy reading! : )

There’s definitely an influx of great books being published this fall!
I forgot to include Blue Lily, Lily Blue on my TTT list, but it’s definitely on my fall TBR. As is A Thousand Pieces of You. Good choices!
My Top Ten Tuesday
Thanks! A Thousand Pieces of You seems to be a popular pick this week!
You’re going to love Trial by Fire, I did!! Looks like you’ve got a brilliant list of books to get through 🙂 I’ve seen A Thousand Pieces of You on lots of other TTTs this week – I must investigate! 🙂
I think I’m really going to enjoy it too, which is why I’m hoping to invest in the series and purchase it rather than get it from the library! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
I can’t wait for the last Mara book either and Raven Boys cycle book 3 and Thousand Pieces of You. Great great list!

Those are probably my top three as well!
These all look and feel romantic; A Thousand Pieces of You is the one that stands out to me most though 🙂 Enjoy your fall reads!

I didn’t realize but you’re right, there’s a lot of romantic reads on this list (perfect for fall when the days are shorter and the weather is crisp and ripe for imagination!) Thanks for stopping by!
I’m also curious about Claudia Gray’s new novel – I really liked her “Fateful” a while ago – and I’ve also read great reviews of “I’ll give you the sun”, so it might just appear in my TBR list too !
I haven’t read anything by Claudia Gray or Jandy Nelson, but I find that a lot of times reading popular new releases leads me to authors older books which I appreciate just as much!
My thoughts exactly 🙂
I love the sound of Wicked, think I will have to add that to the pile. A Thousand Pieces of You is on My TTT too 🙂
Wicked looks amazing! And I love the idea of a New Orleans setting!
Well damn, I forgot about A Thousand Pieces of You! Definitely an interesting premise to read into.
Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts
I’ve seen it on a lot of lists this week! Universe hopping! It seems like a hard concept to master writing about, but if it’s done well I bet it’s amazing.
HELL YES to Blue Lily, Lily Blue, I AM DYING to get my hands on that one!! Salt & Storm, A Thousand Pieces of You, Trial by Fire and Die for Me are all on my tbr shelf as well 😀 Oh and I still need to get into The Bane Chronicles and the Mara Dyer books myself. Hopefully you can get to all of these ^^ this Fall!
I can’t recommend Mara Dyer enough! I think I’m more excited about these fall reads than I was my summer ones! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Nice list! All of these are on my TBR Someday list. *Sigh* So many books, so little time … Happy Fall reading!

I’ve read the first Mara Dyer book, but apparently I need to read the second one to get caught up in time for the release of the third one! 🙂
Also, I keep seeing this Maggie Steifvater series pop up every time I turn around. Maybe I need to give it a shot.
