Returning to Genovia | From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess Mini Reviews

If you’re a follower of my blogs and reviews, you probably know that The Princess Diaries series is my favorite contemporary YA series EVER. It was my first and my most formative, and I fangirled so hard when I finally met Meg Cabot in person this year. So at her signing I picked up the first two books in her new Princess Diaries spinoff series, From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess, because I will do anything and read anything to be back in Mia’s world. How Could You Be So Heartless?

Heartless is one of the most fantastic ARCs I have ever been privileged enough to receive. I waited two hours in line at YALLWest and it was a hot mess getting it (it was pretty much a swarm) but I can’t be more thankful that I acquired it, because it’s a haunting tale that really shows the range of Marissa Meyer’s writing capabilities. You can imagine my immense emotional upheaval upon finishing this book and not deeming it worthy of 5 stars, or even 4 stars, but rather relegating it to the rather mediocre side […]

Flailing Everywhere Over Trial By Fire by Josephine Angelini- A Raving Review

“A crucible’s craving is her mechanic’s mandate.” I usually write very calm, analytical reviews. In fact, I pride myself on it. I like being able to look back on my reviews and have a clear and coherent message as to my thoughts on a book. However, much of that I fear is going to go out the window with this review because I cannot stop flailing over how much I loved this book. It’s only the second book I’ve picked up so far in 2015 but it’s already become my first five star read of the year! Reading this […]
