Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant to Read But Didn’t Get To

This week’s TTT post is all about those coveted 2016 releases that we had every intention of getting to…but for some reason didn’t. This is perfect timing for me, as I am in the process of completely restructuring my Goodreads system and committed to making and sticking to a more regulated TBR schedule in 2017. Below are the ten 2016 releases I most regret not getting to, and I’m aiming to read all of them before 2017 is over! Did any of the above books end up on your list of 2016 reads you didn’t get to? Would you recommend […]

Building My Hawaiian Vacation TBR Plan

Building My Hawaiian Vacation TBR Plan

Having a winter birthday means I have a lifelong complex about the cold. It always limited the birthday activities I could have (I’m still longing for all the pool parties I missed out on having), limited who could come (many people were away visiting family or on vacation), and my parties and celebrations were overshadowed by the holidays. I vowed to myself that ONE YEAR I would finally spend my birthday somewhere tropical, where I could lounge on the beach and enjoy the outdoors and perhaps have a cute birthday outfit that wasn’t obscured by a winter coat. Well my […]

Pre-Order Priorities [3]: First Picks of 2017!

Pre-Order Priorities is a feature that highlights all of the books that I’ve recently pre-ordered and am anxiously awaiting to arrive at my door! This post I’m highlighting all of the 2017 releases that I’ve pre-ordered so far! I’m tyring to be more responsible about my book buying this year, so having some of my most anticipated reads already ordered (and knowing they’ll be en route to me ASAP) keeps me (somewhat) satisfied! Release Date: January 10th, 2017 I’m currently reading Windwitch and loving it, so I knew I’d want it’s sequel in my hands ASAP! I’m also seeing Susan […]

Top 2017 Debuts on My Radar

Top 2017 Debuts on My Radar

A few weeks ago I posted the top 2017 releases on my radar. This week’s TTT prompt fit in perfectly with that series, which is highlighting the top ten debuts I’m excited for releasing in the upcoming year. While some of the titles I mentioned in my initial post are debuts, I’ll be focusing on titles I haven’t mentioned previously in this post. Top Ten Tuesday is, as always, hosted by the lovely blog The Broke and the Bookish. The Education of Margot Sanchez by Lilian Rivera | If there’s a book about a Latino family I am there. City […]

Christmas Recap & December 2016 Month in Review

Christmas Recap & December 2016 Month in Review

There’s no denying that December recaps are my favorite because I get to focus on Christmas and all of it’s colorful, sparkly, and joyful glory. December means time off from work, cold weather, and more excuses to stay inside under my pile of blankets and read. This year was my second Christmas living with Max, and we had a great (if exhausting) holiday, running all around the state seeing our friends and family. Our Christmas weekend started out pretty hectic. We spent Christmas eve-eve together (I had the day off work so I finished my wrapping and shopping and watched […]

To All The Books I Neglected To Review: 2016 Edition [Part 1]

Last December I compiled a post at the end of the month with mini reviews for all of the books I had read but never got around to penning my review for. Most of the time I try not to let the stress of missed reviews get to me, however I always seem to be hit with last minute guilt at the end of the year for those missed reviews. So I decided to turn this into an end of year tradition, and have compiled mini reviews for most* of the books I read but did not review upon finishing […]

2017 Book Buying Resolutions

2017 Book Buying Resolutions

One thing that that’s been undeniably noticeable since I started blogging is how many books I’ve acquired. I’ve been an avid lifelong reader so I’ve always had a lot of books, but I also tended to reread a majority of the time so I wasn’t constantly adding to my shelves. Blogging, however, has made me VERY aware of new books and most bloggers know the struggle of constantly trying to keep up and stay relevant by prioritizing reading and reviewing new releases. Sure, the library is an option but for a coveted new release it can be weeks or months […]

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick | Review

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick | Review

I think everyone goes into reading The Boy Most Likely To with two thoughts in mind: they can’t wait to see more of the Garretts, and they can’t wait to hear more of Tim’s cutting sarcasm. The novel definitely hits the mark on both counts- the Garretts are an ever present entity in Tim’s life as he tries to refocus and reevaluate his life. Huntley Fitzpatrick is so gifted at bringing such a large and vibrant family to life in her stories, and it juxtaposes so well with lost and lonely souls such as Tim, or Samantha from My Life […]

Gilmore Girls Series Re-watch Recap: Season 3

With the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life revival recently launching, I’ve decided to make it my mission to re-watch all of the seasons before I revisit Stars Hollow in the Netflix special. It’s been about 10 years since I watched the original show (I only made it through seasons 1-5) and I was a huge fan as a teenager, so it’s interesting to see how my perspective on the show has changed now that I’m an adult! You can read my thoughts on Seasons 1 & 2, or continue below to my thoughts on Season 3. *Warning! This […]

Book Buddies Review: Top Ten Clues You’re Clueless

Book Buddies is a fun, collaborative review feature that I participate in once a season with my friend Lauren who runs the blog Bookmarklit. We choose a themed book for the season, read it, and then answer fun questions that pertain to the book’s themes and each feature the book in our own way! Check out the second part of our feature on Lauren’s blog! Check out Lauren’s post here! Instead of a Q&A discussion format, book buddies will now be formatted a little differently each time, with elements that reflect the book we read. In Top Ten Clues You’re […]
