I’m excited to be back with making structured TBRs for 2025! I sort of fell off doing this in 2024 after March because I got pregnant and understandably other things took priority. But in those first three months of 2024 I was reading pretty much everything on my TBR and then some, and I felt like picking 6 books to hold myself accountable to worked well! Last year I made sure I had one book “per category,” but this year I’m being more flexible and just picking the top 6 priority books regardless of categories (hence the 3 ARCs on this month’s TBR).
ARC: First-Time Caller | Thrilled for a new series from the author of Lovelight Farms!! This time it takes place in a big city vs. a small town.
ARC: Let’s Call Her Barbie | I have no doubt that this was born out of the big Barbie craze of summer 2023, but nonetheless I am excited to read some more historical fiction and learn more in detail what went into the creation of Barbie. It’s also nice to take a break from romance/ historical fantasy for some straight up historical fiction, a genre I love but don’t read enough (especially since it usually tends to be depressing and I haven’t been in the mood for sad books for the past few years)
ARC: Strike and Burn | I’ve been wanting to try more romantic suspense, so when I was offered this one as an ARC I figured why not?
Audio: Throne of the Fallen | Ugh, I have been trying to read this book for the better part of the past year, and while I’m over halfway through I find that trying to physically read a chunky hardcover slows me down and isn’t the best match for my lifestyle these days. Therefore, I’ve started supplementing with the audiobook on Spotify and am determined to finish it!
Library: Not In Love | I let my library hold of this recent release from Ali Hazelwood lapse an embarassming amount of times last year, so another one I’m determined to get to ASAP. It seems to be pretty divisive so I’m curious as to how I’ll like it; I’ve loved all of her STEM romances but was pretty “meh” about Bride.
KU: Spark of the Everflame | I love that Romantasy is having such a boom right now and there’s SO MANY series that I want to get to on KU. This one is consistently rated highly amongst folks I follow so I’m thinking it will be a great series to start the new year with!
What’s on your TBR for the new year? All new titles, ARCs, or playing catch up with 2024 releases?
