Happy halfway through January, dear readers! Can you believe we’re close to wrapping up the first month of 2021 (that so far is looking too similar to 2020 for my taste, at least at the time of writing this post…) I’m back in the swing of things with work and it feels good to slowly get back into a daily routine, which definitely got waylaid by the holidays! Lots of fun updates this week (though many that are bad for my wallet!)
Discovery+
I know, I know, the last thing you probably need in your life is ANOTHER streaming service. However, Discovery+ has all of the channels I missed after cutting cable (Food Network, HGTV, TLC, etc) and I love these having the option to put on a low stakes show live Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives or House Hunters while around the house (and also keep up on my seasonal shows like Holiday Baking Championship). Also, Verizon is running a 6 month free promo for some of their customers which we qualified for!
Sephora Beauty Insider Program
I’ll admit I was sad that my only year I ever got to enjoy Rouge status perks was the year of COVID, but it looks like Sephora has carried over most people’s statuses from 2020 to 2021, regardless of how much you spent last year. I think this is a smart move since I can imagine spending on things like makeup went down due to COVID, the economy, etc!
Colourpop + ACNH Collab
If you’ve seen me on Instagram lately you’ll know I love Colourpop, a makeup brand with high end quality and drugstore pricing. They also often do really fun pop culture collabs (in 2020 they did Sailor Moon and Hello Kitty) and in 2021 they are kicking off their collabs with an Animal Crossing inspired collection! It looks ADORABLE but I probably won’t end up getting most of the items because they are already too similar to other products in my collection (and the inclusion of pressed glitters in the eyeshadow pallettes is…not great. However, I may pick up the lip tints as I’ve been wanting to try them and at least that way I’ll have something from the collection…the packaging is AMAZING. The products will be launching on the Colourpop website on 1/28 at 10am PST (I believe, if you’re interested I recommend double checking their website) and I think it’s going to launch at Ulta in February too!
Even the Rich Podcast
I’ve been looking to introduce some lighter podcasts back into my rotation that’s predominantly news heavy lately, and I saw on Instagram that one of my friends was listening to the Event the Rich podcast series on Britney Spears. I am a huge Britney fan so of course I checked it out and they do deep dives into the rich and famous. It’s so intriguing!
Regency Romance
Like many others, I am coming down from the Netflix Bridgerton high and it’s made me want to explore the world of regency romance novels. I’ll admit it was a bit intimidated to dive in because there are SO many options and it’s overwhelming, but after doing a Youtube search and a question on Instagram stories I have a shortlist of authors and titles to get me started. I picked up Lisa Kleypas’ Wallflowers series and am addicted- such fun, quick reads that are really immersive!
I should check out that podcast! Sounds interesting!!
It’s pretty addicting, I think you would like it!
