I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.
Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 73/85* Books Read
*RIP, I finally admitted defeat that 100 books was NOT happening this year due to, well, EVERYTHING 2020 has thrust upon us, so I lowered by goal to 85 and am feeling good about it!
This year has FLOWN by. I can’t BELIEVE we are on the cusp of 2021, with no end in sight to COVID, quarantine, etc. Max and I are living our best holiday life with our house decked out for the holidays already, and I’m hoping to get 12 books read next month to complete my Goodreads challenge. I’m trying to give myself grace, because this year sometimes you just want to crash on your couch all day and watch old reality TV (just me?) and not pressure yourself to read, and I’m trying to lean into that feeling when it strikes. I have quite a bit of time off coming up for the holidays so hopefully I can make some headway there with my reading challenge! I’ve decided to keep my “planned” TBR small so I have time to indulge in mood reading, seeing as I need to read about double of the amount of books below.
Library
Majesty // After the cliffhanger that American Royals left off with, I am eager to get to this sequel! I also LOVE the covers of this series even if the characters let me down a bit, lol. The beautiful artwork keeps me coming back to this series!
Wild at Heart // I ADORED The Simple Wild and was thrilled to not only find out there is a sequel but that is has GREAT reviews- something that oftentimes doesn’t happen, especially since The Simple Wild could have easily been a stand alone novel. I’m really excited to head back to Alaska in this one!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue // Everyone has been talking about this book this year, and I’m excited to give the author another shot- I’ve read an Adult and MG book by her and wasn’t super impressed by either, but I’m hoping this will be the one that works for me!
The Once and Future Witches // I’ve been really into the resurgence of witches in paranormal/fantasy novels this year and I love historical fiction although it’s a genre I can tend to sleep on.
For Review
You Have a Match // I adored Tweet Cute and all of the AMAZING food descriptions, and I’m hoping for more in this one!
The Project // I am fascinated about books by cults and after the wild ride that Sadie was, I am sure Courtney Summers is going to impress with this early 2022 release!
What books are you your TBR for December? Let me know in the comments!
I’m hoping to read Majesty and Wild at Heart this month too!
I really hope you get to Wild at Heart, I really think you’ll like it (and I need more people to fangirl over it with lol!)
I just ordered a copy of Wild at Heart and can’t wait to get to it!
It’s SO good! I’d recommend getting the novella too, you’ll likely want to binge it after finishing Wild at Heart!
I am really looking forward to checking out The Project. I am also fascinated with cults, so will need to check this one out next year. Good luck with your TBR!
Thank you Alicia! I am going to get to THE PROJECT soon and I can’t wait!
oooh looks like a great tbr
Thank you!
I have been meaing to read Wild at Heart for a long while and the reviews are all good but I’m still nervous about reading as I adored The Simple Wild so much. I hope you enjoy it.
It’s honestly SUCH a good sequel!!! I was skeptical too because usually sequels don’t capture the same magic as the original book but it completely lived up to the hype for me!
