I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.
Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 65/85* Books Read
*RIP, I finally admitted defeat that 100 books was NOT happening this year due to, well, EVERYTHING 2020 has thrust upon us, so I lowered by goal to 85 and am feeling good about it!
November. NOVEMBER. Just two months left of 2020 and it doesn’t seem like there’s an end to the madness in sight. The election hovers on the horizon (and will likely be over by the time this post goes live), COVID numbers continue to climb, and I’ll be inside my house for the foreseeable future. Hopefully this means I can crank out 20 books between now and the end of the year…yikes.
Owned
Hungry Hearts // My mom gifted this to me early this year for my birthday and I thought it would be perfect to save for the Thanksgiving season given its food focus (and the fact that I rarely encounter Thanksgiving centered books).
Library
Labyrinth Lost // I love witchy books and feel like I haven’t read nearly enough, so hoping to remedy this by a Latinx focused bruja series!
The Simple Wild // I’ve been curious to start this series for a while and I’ve read so few book set in Alaska! I’m hoping this fits the bill for a cozy fall read.
Simmer Down // So I ADORE books centered around food, and I love that it features Filipino food, which is a cuisine that I don’t think gets enough attention!
Lovely War // I have really adored the historical fiction novels I’ve read the past few years (though I admittedly do NOT read it as much as I should) and this one sounds really, really fascinating. It also seems to have excellent reviews!
The Once & Future Witches // Witches + Salem = the perfect fall read.
For Review
Toil & Trouble // Ok I got through 4 stories in this in October so hoping to finish it up this month!
The Voting Booth // I was lucky enough to be sent a finished copy of this and it’s honestly the perfect year to read it with the election!
Rent a Boyfriend // I loved loved loved American Panda and I can’t wait to dive into Gloria’s newest novel with a college aged protagonist! Also, it’s set over the Thanksgiving holiday!
What books are you your TBR for November? Let me know in the comments!
Lovely War and The Voting Booth were both great! Happy reading!
Thank you! Still haven’t gotten to Lovely War yet but hoping to soon!
Great TBR! I hope you will enjoy all of these.
Thank you!
I LOVE The Lovely War! I’d also love to read Simmer Down this month! I plan on hopefully reading more than these three, but I currently have Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams, Snapped by Alexa Martin, and The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd checked out from the library. Happy reading!
Ah so many people raving about Lovely War, I somehow keep glossing over it despite putting it on my TBR again and again!
You reminded me of Hungry Hearts, so I automatically went to place a hold on it ? I want to read Rent a Boyfriend too!
Glad I could remind you!! Have you read it yet?
Rent a Boyfriend is on my Most Anticipated list because it sounds SO CUTE. I’ve been meaning to read The Simple Wild for ages, and I’m intrigued by The Voting Booth! Good luck with your TBR!
It was honestly really adorable, even if the main character’s parents were really frustrating at times! The Simple Wild was SO SO good, I binged the whole series the past few weeks and I am obsessed!
