TTT: Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2020

I adore making lists of upcoming releases I’m excited for (and reading those of others!) and I couldn’t resist linking up with Top Ten Tuesday this week to talk about the releases I’m most excited for that are coming out the latter part of this year (and having something positive to look forward to for the rest 2020 is a huge help!) I feel like I say this every year but there are SO many amazing titles coming out, I think the lineup gets better and better each year! If you’re interested in checking out my most anticipated releases from the first half of 2020, you can do so here!

You Had Me at Hola (August 4th) | I’ve made it a personal goal for 10% or more of the books I read this year to feature Latinx protagonists and there have been a LOT of wonderful releases lately that fit the bill! I’m so excited for this one because 1) the cover is STUNNING and 2) it follows a telenovela star! I am 100% here for more telenovela rom coms, please.

Kiss My Cupcake (August 10th) | I discovered Helena Hunting a few years ago and I’ve really had a lot of fun reading her novels since then. I LOVE LOVE LOVE culinary themed books and this looks hilarious and is sort of giving me adult Tweet Cute vibes.

A Deadly Education (September 29th) | I’ve heard this one described as more mature, angsty, dark Harry Potter so of course I will be reading it.

The Inheritance Games (September 29th) | I love a good Jennifer Lynn Barnes thriller and this one gives me Westing Games vibes!

A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and and Tomorrow (October 6th) | Another food centered novel (YUM) and it looks like this one explores a lot of important themes and it’s set in Miami + England!

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (October 6th) | Everyone it talking about this one! It’s giving me major Age of Adaline vibes (I loved that movie). Also, I love a good Faustian bargain in fiction.

In a Holidaze (October 20th) | I don’t even need to read the descriptions for Christina Lauren books anymore because I know if it’s by them I will love it! Also, YES to a holiday themed book from them!

Kingdom of the Wicked (October 27th) | I read Stalking Jack the Ripper and thought it was OK (I eventually intend to finish the series at some point) so I’m not 100% sure if I love this author’s writing yet, but I do love books with witches and this sounds like the perfect Halloween-y read!

Love & Olives (November 10th) | This one is actually a repeat from my first half of 2020 anticipated releases list because the publication date got pushed back.

Admission (December 1st) | Who didn’t hear about the massive college bribery scandal a year or two back? I’m interested in reading this fictional take on the situation!

What is your most anticipated release for the second half of 2020? Help me add to my never ending TBR! 🙂

  1. Great list! A Deadly Education made my list this week, too, and I’m looking forward to Kingdom of the Wicked—it involves Italy and witches, two of my favourite things, so I’ll definitely be checking it out. ?

    • It’s funny, I’ve heard a lot of people say they didn’t like love & Gelato but really like the second book in the series (love & Luck) which has a different protagonist. I actually really love companion series because we get to stay in the same universe without being committed to the same exact story, so perhaps Love & Olives will work out for you! Also, yes I’m so excited for more Jennifer Lynn Barnes!
