Monthly TBR Plan: April 2020

Posted April 8, 2020 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Features, TBR / 4 Comments

I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.

Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 18/100* Books Read

*Wish me luck as I try to read more books in 2020 than ever before!

I think we can all agree that March was a rough month with a global pandemic going on. I was slumping hard in the beginning of the month but found my groove towards the end of it, so you’ll see some carry overs from last month. Going into the beginning of April I’ve read some excellent books so I have REALLY high hopes I’ll get a lot of books read this month! I have some great library holds coming in and will also be catching up on some books for reading challenges.

Library

What I Carry // I don’t know too much about this one, but when the synopsis linked it to Far From the Tree by Robin Benway I was sold (I LOVED that book!)

Mad, Bad & Dangerous to Know // I feel like everyone is buzzing about this book! I’m really excited about the dual timelines in this story.

The Best Laid Plans // This looks so cute and the fact that the summary included “for fans of Meg Cabot” had me sold (you all know my love for the Princess Diaries). I’m loving the continuing trend of illustrated covers too!

In Five Years // During this tumultuous time I’m looking for romance novels to take my mind of things, and I’ve been hearing a lot about this one! Also, my bestie Lauren mentioned this was a quick read that helped her get back into a reading groove, and I’m hoping this will have a similar impact on me!

Parental Guidance // Romance novels can be hit or miss for me but I really enjoyed the last hockey romance I read (The Good Luck Charm) so I’m excited to give this one a shot!

Rainbow Try a Chapter Unhaul

The Gilded Wolves // (I didn’t get to March’s “green” book I’m playing catch up this month!) So the last thing I need this month is probably ANOTHER huge fantasy book to read but it’s so green and pretty and perfect for the March color prompt of – you guessed it- green for Lauren’s Rainbow Try a Chapter Unhaul Challenge!

Broken Things // So the April color prompt for Lauren’s Rainbow Try a Chapter Unhaul Challenge is dark blue, and I decided to choose from some backlist ARCs that I have and settled on this thriller from Lauren Oliver. I feel like I always go into Lauren Oliver books wanting to like them but having a mediocre experience, but I’ve already started it and am REALLY enjoying it so far!

Owned

House of Earth and Blood // I pre-ordered this and have no idea if I’ll actually finish it in one month (it looks GIANT) but I am super excited for an adult book from Sarah J Maas!

Are any of these books on your TBR for April? Let me know in the comments!
