Monthly TBR Plan: December 2019- End of Year Priority TBR!

Posted December 11, 2019 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Features, TBR / 2 Comments

I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.

Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 49/60* Books Read

*Full disclosure, this goal could lower- I am not sure how feasible 12 books in the next 3 weeks or so is!

The last month of the year! Can you BELIEVE that we’re at the end of 2019? What a ride it’s been. I’ll admit, so many life events have happened to me this year that reading took a backseat. That being said, I’m really excited to a relatively *calm* 2020 that allows for a lot of downtime to blog and read! I’ve rounded up my end of year priority TBR of books I’d like to check off of my list before the year ends!

For Review

The Map From Here to There // Literally screamed when I got approved for this one on NetGalley! It’s so exciting when authors return to an original with a sequel several years later. I need to try and reread The Start of Me and You before diving into this one if I have time!

No Judgements // Literally SCREAMED when I got approved for Meg Cabot’s new adult novel on NetGalley. I ADORE Meg Cabot’s novels and I really don’t even know what this is about but I DON’T CARE I know I’ll love it!

Library

Before the Devil Breaks You // So I am suuuuuper behind on The Diviners Readalong that happened earlier this fall (I’m a slow audio book listener!) but I’m about 2/3 of the way through this installment and I like it a lot more than it’s predecessor (book 2 was ROUGH for me). The problem is this audio book is like 22+ hours long and my library loan keeps expiring before I have a chance to finish it lol. I should have it checked out in about 2 weeks again for the 3rd time and I’m determined to actually finish it this time!

Permanent Record // I somehow missed Emergency Contact but Permanent Record caught my attention when everyone was freaking out online about the gorgeous cover/dust jacket. I’m about halfway through this and am really surprised how much I like it. I love college set YA and it’s refreshing to have a male narrator, and I feel like the author’s voice is very authentic in crafting Pablo’s narration style. I’m also getting major Ariana Grande vibes from the love interest, but maybe that’s just me?

Owned

American Royals // So I started this book shortly after it came out and though I’m really interested in the premise, I put it on hold about 80 or so pages in and haven’t returned to it yet. I think the timing was just off for when I was trying to read it, because I couldn’t get into it at the time. I’m excited to revisit this one again!

Are any of these on your TBR? What books are you trying to get to before the end of year? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Wooo! I loved THE MAP FROM HERE TO THERE. Not as much as the first, but pretty dang close. I hope to get to PERMANENT RECORD next year as well. So weird, I started AMERICAN ROYALS too and despite being interested, also put it aside! I think it was because I didn’t really have time for the audiobook basically the day after I started it haha. That’s another for 2020 for me too 🙂
