Monthly TBR Plan: April 2019

Posted April 10, 2019 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Features, TBR / 3 Comments

I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.

Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 19/70 Books Read

Ahhh you guys, can you believe we’re in the second quarter of 2019?! Where is the time going?! I really wanted to hit 20 books in Q1 but I got pretty close! In April my already limited free time is going to take a huge nose dive with work, wedding planning ramping up (two months to go!!!) and my bachelorette party (in Disneyland!) it will be a miracle if I get ANY reading done this month…but I will be ambitious as always!

For Review

Serious Moonlight // After how much I loved Starry Eyes I was SCREAMING when I got this one at ALA midwinter this year (and appropriately, the book is set in Seattle too)! I love the cover and the Pacific Northwest setting and I love the celestial theming to the authors’ book titles lately!

Meet Cute // I read my first Helena Hunting book last year and really enjoyed it, especially as I hope to get more into the romance genre. The cover for this one is adorable and I can’t wait to dive in!

Wicked Saints// The author of Wicked Saints was actually at ALA doing a signing in January so I was able to meet her and get my ARC signed! There has been SO MUCH hype surrounding this novel and I’m crossing my fingers that the content is as compelling as the aesthetic.

Girls on the Verge // A more serious read, a publicist at Macmillan pitched this one to me and I was immediately interested, as it deals with topics that I definitely think need more visibility.

In the Neighborhood of True // Recently I’ve rekindled my love of historical fiction and this one has been on my radar for a while.

If I’m Being Honest // Ok, can we all take a minute to appreciate how GORGEOUS this cover is? I haven’t read the debut book by these authors (I think they’re a couple that writes together?) but I have heard nothing but great things!

There’s Something About Sweetie // I love Sandhya Menon’s books for a light and fluffy read with heart (love a good feel-good story) and I have a feeling this one is going to be my favorite one yet! Sweetie seems like the perfect mix of sassy and approachable and I have a feeling she’s going to be a great protagonist!

Scribd

Daisy Jones & the Six // I have to admit, I am nervous about this one! The whole “behind the music” premise isn’t really my thing and I hear this one is really different formatting wise. I love love love TJR so I’m going to give it a shot, and Evenlyn Hugo was amazing, but I will admit I do miss her emotional contemporary romances!

Are any of these on your TBR? What’s your most anticipated book for April? Let me know in the comments!
