Monthly TBR Plan: March 2019

Posted March 6, 2019 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Features, TBR / 5 Comments

I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.

Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 12/70 Books Read

Despite February being a crazy short month (who knew 2-3 days made such a difference??) I’m glad I was at least able to keep up my 6 books a month streak, which is pretty decent considering I’m in the home stretch of wedding planning now (RIP my free time). My TBR moving forward for the rest of the spring is going to be pretty heavy on the books I picked up at ALA and I’m excited to dive into a lot of them, especially so many great contemporaries!

For Review

Internment // The cover of this one is STUNNING. I enjoyed the author’s debut novel last year, and I’m intrigued to see what she does with this speculative fiction novel that explores a horrifying future in the US.

The Dating Game // Another sophomore novel, I had a lot of fun reading Frat Girl and I’m excited to read another college-set YA novel!

Killing November // I loved Adriana Mather’s first contemporary/historical fiction series, so I’m excited to see her try her hand at a private school setting, a staple in the YA genre! The cover and synopsis are sort of giving me PLL vibes.

Heroine // Ever since seeing Madalyn mention this novel, I have been interested in reading it. The content seems heavy for sure (McGinnis is not scared to handle tough topics) but there is a huge opiod epidemic in the country and it will be interested to see how it’s portrayed in a YA setting.

Wicked Saints// The author of Wicked Saints was actually at ALA doing a signing in January so I was able to meet her and get my ARC signed! There has been SO MUCH hype surrounding this novel and I’m crossing my fingers that the content is as compelling as the aesthetic.

Girls with Sharp Sticks // (Carryover from last month) I’m so excited to have been approved for this one on NetGalley! I know my girl Lauren has a lot of love for this author (I’ve only read one book by her) so I’m excited to try out her writing again!

Courting Darkness // I was lucky enough to see Robin on tour for her newest addition to the His Fair Assassins series and now I really need to read the book!

The Everlasting Rose // So I’ve screamed enough about this book on my blog already, so I won’t add much more. Max pre-ordered it for me as a birthday gift so while it’s not in my hands *yet* it will be soon!

Tower of Dawn //This has been on my TBR every month for like the past 4 months so not going to say much except WISH ME LUCK because I am NOT a Chaol fan. Let’s hope I finally get to this one…

Love and Other Words // So after discovering Christina Lauren last year I’ve made it a point to try to mix in a book of theirs at least every other month because I enjoy them so much and they’re so much fun. I’m mostly through this audio book already actually and while it’s good WOW do I have some THOUGHTS about the romance…keep an eye out for a salt-filled review soon.

Are any of these on your TBR? What’s your most anticipated book for March? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I am really looking forward to Internment. It looks like it’s going to be really powerful. I also need to get to Courting Darkness and The Everlasting Rose. Ahh, so many good book releases this year! When will I find the time to read them all? Hope you have a lovely March!
