Monthly TBR Plan: February 2019

Posted February 7, 2019 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Features, TBR / 6 Comments

I’ve made a lot of reading resolutions, and one of them is to be better about cultivating a monthly TBR. I know so many bloggers do beginning of the month TBR posts and I always LOVE reading them, so I’ve decided to post my own as well! I will include my physical, e-book, and ARC TBRs as well as a status update of where I am prior to starting my upcoming month’s TBR.

Reading Progress Prior To This Month: 6/70 Books Read

I’m excited for a slightly calmer February, as January was WILD with travel, birthdays, ALA, and more! I managed to start off the year with a decent amount of books (6) but am hoping to surpass that this month with more time at home. I also will be trying to stick even closer to my planned TBR than usual to ensure I can get through all of my ARCs for 2019, as I’ve acquired quite a few so far!

I’ll admit, this month’s TBR scares me a little because I’m usually not a huge fantasy reader and there’s a LOT of fantasy on here. I’m going to try to space the contemporary choices between them to give myself a break!

Owned

Queen of Air and Darkness // Ok so this was on my TBR last month and to be fair I did get about ~150 pages in (it’s so long)! At first I was really into it because HELLO THE CLIFFHANGER THE LAST BOOK LEFT OFF ON but now I’m in the 200s and it’s just so slooooow. I’m alternating between reading a physical copy and listening to the audio via Scribd (not a huge fan of the narrator TBR) so at least reading it in dual formats is keeping me chugging along.

Tower of Dawn // You know what is sad? That I STILL haven’t finished my reread of Empire of Storms. It is SUCH a bridge book. I didn’t even bother putting it on here. Once I am FINALLY done with that I need to move on to this one so I can FINALLY get to KOA since I’ve miraculously been able to avoid spoilers so far. I’m worried though because I rally dislike Chaol so this book could be a bit of a drag for me!

The Wicked King // So I actually started this in January as well and got about 22 pages in before I realized there was a novella that I is between books 1 & 2 so I had to put it on hold before I tracked down the novella at my library (can you tell I’m a pretty casual fan of this series)? I did treat myself to the B&N exclusive edition though!

99 Percent Mine // While I’m fairly certain nothing can ever surpass The Hating Game in my heart, I’m excited to read another novel by this author!

For Review

Girls with Sharp Sticks // I’m so excited to have been approved for this one on NetGalley! I know my girl Lauren has a lot of love for this author (I’ve only read one book by her) so I’m excited to try out her writing again!

Bloodleaf // Right at the very end of 2018 I received this beauty in the mail from HMH Teen and I’m so delighted they sent me an ARC! I’m trying to up my fantasy reading this year so will be reading + reviewing this soon!

An Affair of Poisons// Is it just me, or does 2019 feel like it has a lot of french-inspired fantasies? That’s totally OK with me (I actually usually really enjoy historical fiction/fantasy) and I’m excited to be on the blog tour for this one!

Library

The Lost Sisters // So now that I know this exists, I can get caught up to speed before continuing on with The Wicked King!

Are any of these on your TBR? What’s your most anticipated book for February? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Yay for Suzanne Young!! I hope to get to that one this month too. Also, I don’t know if I mentioned this, but the novella in the WICKED KING series is on Scribd as a super quick and enjoyable audiobook!!

  2. Aww, you changed your profile picture on your sidebar. You two look so adorable and so happy. That B&N edition of The Wicked King is so gorgeous. Makes me rethink my Amazon purchase of it, ha! Hope you enjoy all these books on your TBR!
