What’s better than finding new books under the Chirstmas tree? For me, books (or gift cards to purchase books) are usually a huge staple in my wish list, although in recent years I’ve really pared down my bookish wishlist in an effort to cultivate a more purposeful home library (and I’m running out of space, let’s be honest). There’s usually not a ton of new releases in December, so Christmas usually serves as a time for me to ask for books I can’t get from the library to try out and didn’t pre-order throughout the year (which is largely how I buy books).
This year I also have quite a few bookish related merchandise on my list like the Prythian court pins from Read & Wonder and the Always Fully Booked 2019 planner from Little Inklings Design. Unfortunately (or very fortunately!) I already know Max ordered these items for me since I was the one who had to notify him once they became available thanks to announcements on Instagram (bookish merch sells out so fast and we didn’t want to take any chances). HOWEVER I usually do also get a few books from my wishlist for Christmas (and/or my birthday which falls during the holiday season) so I thought it’d be fun to share what books I’m hoping Santa *coughMAXcough* brings me!
Starry Eyes | One of my FAVORITE reads of 2018, I have to own a physical copy of this one!
The Reckoning on Noah Shaw | This is another book I was blessed enough to receive an ARC of (thanks NetGalley!) and need a finished copy to add to my collection!
Love a la Mode | I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this adorable book that centers around teens, romance and cooking and since I am Food Network trash I just know I am going to love this one!
Little White Lies | I’ve only read one book by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (and really enjoyed it!) but something about the premise of this one intrigues me, plus I’m always a sucker for a southern setting and debutantes!
The Names They Gave Us | This was a phenomenal book that I read back in 2017 and is my favorite Emery Lord book to date. It’s another book that I’d love to have a physical copy of for my shelves (and I’m OBSESSED with the cover!)
The Beautiful | There is a special place in my heart for vampires thanks to an early Twilight obsession in my pre-teen years (and to be fair my recent re-watch of The Vampire Diaries) and I’m so excited to see them return to the YA world!
Now I Want to Hear from You!
Do you struggle with what books to add to your wishlist for Christmas? Have you usually acquired all of your highly anticipated reads by the end of the year? Are you super picky with the physical books you buy and add to your shelves? And, most importantly, do you have book recommendations that you absolutely recommend I add to my list? Let me know in the comments!
