January 2018 Month in Review + Exciting Announcement!!!

Posted February 14, 2018 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Features, Month In Review / 26 Comments

Is it just me, or did January feel like an EXTREMELY long month? Between work, my birthday, going on vacation, and settling into the new year, I feel like it’s already been 2018 for quite a while! We started out the year with a vacation to Hawaii and some other exciting news…

Max and I got engaged during our trip! Granted, it wasn’t really a surprise (when you’ve been with someone for ten years you expect to get engaged at some point) but it was a perfect combination of a birthday trip/engagement-moon (yes, I’m making that a thing). Now we have loads of wedding planning ahead of us (I have done pretty much nothing aside from buying a wedding planning binder and downloading The Knot wedding planning app) but come spring we will definitely have to kick the planning into high gear (though we’re not targeting a date until 2019). Expect to see the occasional wedding related post!

After a little over a week of Hawaiian vacation bliss, it was rough coming back home and getting back into the swing of things (especially as I was rolling right into my second busy season at work). The rest of the month included Max’s company’s holiday party and an impromptu work field trip to Alcatraz (when in San Francisco…). I also got a fair amount of reading done as well!

    • Why thank you, Aimee! I’m excited to share wedding planning updates (especially since I feel like it’s taking over my life right now!) and hoping to maybe incorporate some bookish or blogging elements into my decor 🙂
