Without further ado, here is the Sailor Moon Book Tag!

Sailor MoonA book that makes you hungry

when we collidedWhen We Collided by Emery Lord | Jonah’s an aspiring chef and reading about his recipes, restaurants, and cathartic time in the kitchen will activate your appetite!

Sailor MercuryA book featuring technology

illuminaeIlluminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff | Not only does this book feature technology heavily, but it has technology play a major character (Am I not merciful?).

Sailor MarsA book inspired by mythology or folklore

ACOMAFA Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas | The second book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series is modeled after the myth of Persephone and Hades (and also, you know I was going to find an excuse to mention this book at some point ;))

Sailor JupiterA book that gave you strong feelings

tiny pretty thingsTiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton | I loved this book but it gave me major anxiety while reading with all of the suspense and backstabbing!

Sailor VenusA book that made you want to play video games

maradyer

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin | The creepy asylum setting and the unreliable narration by Mara would make the PERFECT (and most terrifying) video game.

Sailor UranusA book featuring elemental magic

shadowandboneShadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo | I love the elemental systems of magic in this series, and I would definitely be a Tidemaker.

Sailor NeptuneA book featuring music

justlisten

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen | While music doesn’t play an overwhelmingly large part in the novel, it holds a special significance in aiding Owen in teaching Annabelle, and himself, how to truly listen.

Sailor SaturnA post-apocalyptic book you loved

AngelfallAngelfall by Susan Ee | I love love love the unusual take Ee takes in this series, from the more original view of the angel trope to including mental illness and a California setting.

Sailor Pluto(1)A book about time travel

PassengerPassenger by Alex Bracken | This book covers so many places and time periods, and has one of the most stunning covers I’ve ever seen.

Sailor Chibi MoonA favorite middle grade book

westing gameThe Westing Game by Ellen Raskin | Quite possibly my favorite middle grade book ever, it feels like a game of Clue come to life.

Tuxedo MaskA book/series with hidden identities

throneofglassThrone of Glass by Sarah J Maas | While I can’t specify who has the hidden identity without spoiling, I loved finding out who was hiding in plain sight in this series!

LunaA book for animal lovers or a book with an animal loving protagonist.

princessdiaries1The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot | Fat Louie, anyone?

  1. I love all of your graphics<3!! I'm so excited that we're finally able to share this with everyone today and I can't wait to read all of your future Sailor Moon posts<3 And I've never read the Mara Dyer books! I always consider it but I've heard bad things about the third so I'm not sure if I should invest my time in them…

    • Thank you, Kristin! I really think that if you love psychological thrillers and unreliable narrators, you should really try out the Mara Dyer trilogy. The third one does go in a bit of a different direction than I think a lot of readers were anticipating, but it’s still a great series overall!

  2. This is an absolutely fa illusion idea. I have loves Sailor Moon since I was young. If you don’t mind I will be doing this tag really soon. ?

  3. OH MY GOODNESS! The graphics you’ve created for the tag are PERFECTION <3 And yay for our Sailor Moon event! I cannot wait to see it all come together and read everyone's posts 🙂

  4. Fantastic list! I love how almost all of us have ACOMAF on our lists. It’s just so stinkin’ good! Looking forward to your future posts and co-hosting all this awesomeness with you! 🙂

    • YES PLEASE DO. I started with the anime, and I grew up watching the English dub on Cartoon Network (these are still my favorite versions to watch, because it’s the voice actors I grew up with). The mangas were really hard to find growing up since they had been discontinued, but within the past few years they’ve rereleased them and you can easily find them on Amazon or at B&N. There are some differences but the general plot is the same, especially in the first few mangas and series of the show. ALSO they just released POP figures and it’s so bad but I’m obsessed! You can also find a lot of Sailor Moon merchandise (shirts, etc.) at Hot Topic. I would definitely start with the show (perhaps season 1) and see if you like it, and then start the mangas from there!
