Favorite Book Read This Month: Blue Lily, Lily Blue. It was simply AMAZING. Also, Jesse Dittley is my favorite character.
Least Favorite Book Read This Month: None, they were all either 4 or 5 star reads! Hooray for 2016 being off to a good start!
Book that Most Surprised Me This Month: The Masked Truth by Kelley Armstrong. I haven’t picked up one of her books since I read The Darkest Powers trilogy back in high school, and I forgot how great she is at writing action. Her thriller was very good and very convincing.

Updates About My Life This Month
I’m really happy about the progress I’ve made so far this month, considering that January is always a busy time for me (New Year’s, coming back from the holidays, my birthday, my best friend’s birthday, etc.) My birthday was a weekend-long celebration that started with getting to go to Tiffany’s with my boyfriend and picking out an item (a yearly tradition), going out to dinner, visiting my parent’s house the next day (they got me a bookshelf for my new place!…too bad I still have to build it…), going to the snow, and then getting sick and having to recover. Max also gifted me with two books he knew I had been coveting, Passenger and Truthwitch.
I also had the amazing opportunity to meet Alex Bracken and Susan Dennard while they were on tour for their respective books, and at the signing I picked up a copy of Something Strange and Deadly. I’m trying to buy less books this year in an effort to get around to all of the unread books I own, but I did also pick up a copy of What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty at Costco today (we take a trip to stock up on home essentials every two weeks and I can’t help but cruise by the book display).
February is going to be a crazy month, as work will pick up again after being relatively calm through December/January. My TWO YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY will be next weekend, so be sure to check out my post and giveaways to celebrate! Valentine’s day weekend I will also be having my wisdom teeth removed (I’ve ignored them for a while) and I’m slightly (completely) terrified. (If you have any recovery tips I would love to hear them!) Spring is really also right around the corner, and I am so excited for warmer weather and YALLWEST in a few months!
How was the first year of 2016 for you? Are you on track with your reading and blogging goals? Do you have any upcoming book events you’re going to? Have you had your wisdom teeth taken out? Let me know in the comments!
January was simply fabulous for you wasn’t it? The chance to meet Alex Bracken and Susan Dennard – wow! 😀 Hope you have an even better (and dare I say more bookish?) month in February~!
Thank you so much, Geraldine! I’m hoping I can at least keep up my pace of 1 book per week in February!
Yay for an amazing January! I think it’s awesome that you were able to meet both Alex and Susan, because they’re amazing ladies 🙂 And your Tiffany’s tradition is adorable!
Thank you so much, Alexa! I’m lucky to have a boyfriend who treats me to such a great birthday tradition 🙂
