Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is “Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added to My TBR.” My list this week is a mixture of backlist books, recent releases, and upcoming releases in 2016. These aren’t on my physical-I-already own-TBR, but rather they are new additions to my Goodreads TBR over the past month or so. In no particular order:
Not Yet Released:
The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone
The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Girl Who Fell by Shannon M. Parker
The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeny
The Star Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
A Tyranny of Petticoats by Jessica Spotswood
Recent Releases:
The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore
Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
Backlist Books:
Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
Have any of these books recently caught your eye and made it onto your TBR? Have you already read them? Did you feature books you recently acquired, or just books that made it onto your never-ending Goodreads TBR? Let me know in the comments!
I want to read The Girl Who Fell and Firsts soon :).
The Weight of Feathers and Firsts are two I really want to get to. Especially Firsts because it is such a crazy premise but sounds like it hits on some serious topics. I have to check out some of your not yet released picks. Great list!!
I have most of them on my tbr list, but I haven’t read any of them! I think The Loose End List and The Girl Who Fell are the ones I want to read the most!
I loved reading Firsts! Hope you get around to it soon! 🙂
Did it live up to your expectations? I’ve heard a LOT of buzz around it because it deals with more mature YA content, and I love when YA books push boundaries and make you think critically about topics!
Yeah, it definitely lived up to my expectations. It made me think about issues like consent, about double standards…it was a really great read, because it packaged deep issues and made them easier for me to understand and access 🙂
i’ve heard so many good things about firsts, and i’ve been really wanting to read it. the rest of the books on this list look really good! <3
Firsts has definitely sparked a LOT of conversation, which is something I really love with novels. I really want to read it soon!
I haven’t heard of any of these, but I love all the covers! The Petticoat one really sounds fun!
I love that there are starting to be more and more YA anthologies appearing. I feel like it really gives me a chance to try out a lot of different authors!
I’m excited for The Star Touched Queen. It has a lot of potential I think!
My TTT
I love that more Eastern themed fantasy books are becoming a trend!
Firsts made my list as well! I have heard tons of great stuff about that one. But I honestly want to read pretty much every other book on your list too. Wonderful choices!
Thank you, Lefty! I really want to read Firsts and see how it handles such a controversial subject matter. I love books that push boundaries in YA!
Ooooh THE NEST looks intriguing! I’m headed to check that out.
Just did – definitely added to the TBR!
YES buddy read?!
YESSSS
Oh man, so many of these covers are so beautiful. I’m tempted to buy them even if not all of them are up my alley.
I recently read Firsts and it was phenomenal. At first I didn’t think I would like it, but it completely pulled a one-eighty on me. The friendships and the sweet romance in it were amazing! I really hope you enjoy it when you get to it. 😀
It’s so easy to think that a book like Firsts could be a disaster what with the subject matter, age group, etc., so I’m glad to hear it was successful!
The Star-Touched Queen I am SO excited for- I hope you enjoy it when you get round to reading it 🙂
Here’s my TTT post with my TBR if you would like to check it out 🙂 Have a great day xo
Me too! I’m so happy that Eastern mythology and folklore is being explored more in YA retellings!
I just recently added Something Strange and Deadly to my TBR shelf, and I’m very excited to get my hands on a copy! Loved this list!
Me too! If you’re ever interested in a buddy read feature, let me know! I think the steampunk elements in this series would be a great basis for a feature! 🙂
I am intrigued by The Girl Who Fell (I have heard good things) and The Nest sounds good! I love this week’s topic, but my TBR pile does not. 🙂
The Nest seems like it’s going to satisfy my craving for adult literature this spring!
I like the sound of The Lose Ends List, I am pretty sure I’ve seen that one before, maybe even added it to my to-read list. And I read a great review for Firsts lately, really made me curious about the book. I hope you get to read all of these books and enjoy them
Thank you Lola! I’ve been hearing a lot of preliminary buzz for the Loose Ends List, it looks like the perfect read for summer! I admit I am craving more summer themed reads right now as I wish the weather was warmer!
