Hello lovely followers!
Today marks the end of my two-week summer vacation hiatus! I am SO excited to be back and jump back into the blogosphere. I’ve spent the past two weeks literally traveling from coast to coast (San Francisco to Washington DC) and I’ve missed the bookish community immensely!
Here’s what I did while I was away:
- ALA SF 2015!
- Traveled to Washington DC and saw SO MUCH (my favorite was the Lincoln memorial and Arlington Cemetery). I also got to spend the 4th of July in the nations capitol!
- Visited with family.
- Spent some much needed time with my boyfriend (he lives 2 hours away so I don’t get to see him everyday). We caught up on our favorite shows together (Food Network Star, Chopped, etc.) ate a lot of frozen yogurt, and planned our next few YA buddy reads after going through our ALA finds.
- Read 2 books (Made You Up and My Life Next Door)
I’m going to be posting in-depth about my Washington DC trip and, of course, my first ALA experience! Look out for those posts next week along with some reviews, a much delayed June Recap, and responses to comments from the past few weeks!
It’s a bit overwhelming catching up after being gone for two weeks, but so many bloggers take brief hiatuses over the summer to travel and I’m glad I was able to relax and have the experience that I did! You can check out what I’ve been up to while I’ve been away on my Instagram. Thanks to everyone who supported my brief break and encouraged me to relax and have a good time! I’m happy to be back!
Good to see you back, Cristina! Look forward to hearing about all of your adventures. π
Thank you Becky!
Welcome back! I can’t wait to read about your trip to D.C. π
Thank you so much Olivia!
It is good to have you back π
Thank you Mel! π
I love that you and your boyfriend buddy read. My husband doesn’t read much, but when he likes a book, I try to read it to, so we can discuss it. We both loved Ready Player One, so we’ll be reading Armada soon. I can’t wait!
My boyfriend actually JUST finished reading Ready Player One and loved it too! It’s great being able to expose others to YA, and I’m lucky that he’s so open minded π
Cool.
Welcome back! Im glad you had a great time!
Thank you, Kay!
Yay! Glad you’re back! After reading about your boyfriend on and off I have to admit I’m curious! Did you guys meet at college? He’s a YA reader too?! MORE INFO PLEASE.
Haha thank you! We actually met in high school, and started dating officially when I was a junior and he was a senior. We did the long distance thing for college (our schools were 400+ miles away) and are now both out of college and still together! He’s always been a pretty big reader but more adult fantasy/sci-fi, with the exception of series he grew up with like Harry Potter, Pendragon, etc. He’d dabble in YA here and there, but has now started reading it a LOT more since I started my blog last year and we did a buddy read of TFIOS by John Green. (We were both underwhelmed, lol). Now he’s REALLY into Six of Crows, so I’m converting him π
