sundayfundaySunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back!

Life

Well obviously this week has been full of BIG CHANGES, namely that I moved from WordPress.com to WordPress.org! I’m going to do an in-depth post about my transition once I finally get all the bugs worked, and if you have any questions about how my move went feel free to ask me in the comments or email me!

Pretty much everything went smoothly with the move. All of my content transferred over smoothly thanks to the lovely Ashley of Nosegraze who runs the hosting service Bookhost, which is the service I went with to host my blog. However, I have been experiencing a small issue: my posts are not yet appearing in the wordpress.com reader for those who follow me via wordpress.com. I am working with the lovely folks over at wordpress.com to get this fixed ASAP, and I do intend to get it resolved shortly! In the meantime, here’s how you can ensure you see my posts:

-Follow me via email (either using the sidebar widget or if you follow me via wordpress.com, just go to my blog under “blogs I follow” and click “edit” and turn on email notifications)

-Follow me via Bloglovin’

-Follow me via Twitter (I tweet a link each time I post)

I have technically moved over all of my wordpress.com followers so as long as you’re following me over there you can get email notifications while I fix the issue with the reader!

Also, don’t forget to enter my giveaway for an ARC of Emmy & Oliver plus other goodies from YALLWEST, and you can gain entries by following me! (Enter soon! It ends Thursday! US only, must be 18 or older, winner must respond within 48 hours).

So aside from that, I’m loving my new home for my blog!

*Also a HUGE thank you to my followers who have been helping me troubleshoot my issue by letting me know how things are showing up on the wordpress.com end, especially Joey @ Thoughts and Afterthoughts, Anjie @ Love thy Shelf, and Becky @ Blogs of a Bookaholic!

Books

thesebrokenstarsI’m currently about 60% of the way through These Broken Stars for my book buddies read this month with the lovely Lauren over at Bookmarklit! It’s definitely not what I was expecting, which is pleasing yet disappointing at the same time. (Am I the only one strongly reminded of the Titanic?) Also, it’s much more eerie than I thought it would be.

My next few weeks in reading will focus mainly on my ARCs of Emmy & Oliver, Making Pretty, and The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. I also have a lot of pre-ordered books coming in May (Crimson Bound, End of Days, Fangirl Special Editions, etc.) so I’m going to have a lot of reading material for the month of May!

  1. Woop woop, well done for getting through all the massive blog changes! I know I’m looking forward to the blog about your experience moving over. Even if I can’t currently do it, I’m interested to hear about how it all works! And no problem on the help front. If there’s anything else you want me to check from my side pop me an email or a tweet and I would be happy to help. 🙂

  2. Congrats on moving to WP.org! YAYA. I moved about 5 months ago now and seriously? Best. decision. ever. XD I love all the features (although I moved from blogger, so it was definitely a breath of fresh air, ahha) I’ve heard These Broken Stars actually pitched as Titanic in space. So YES. You’re spot on there. 😉 It wasn’t what I expected either but I definitely enjoyed it. x)
