Pardon the Dust!

blogbuttonAs you may have noticed, some changes have been taking place! Since the one year anniversary of my blog I have been wanting to spruce up my images and branding, and I was recently inspired by Alicia over at A Kernel of Nonsense to use the spring season as an excuse to do some “spring cleaning” around my blog. My header has changed and I have a new button image to match (find it in my sidebar!) and I’ll be slowly changing some of my older graphics to match the new theme. Thanks so much for the understanding of the changes in advance, and let me know what you think in the comments!

  1. I’ve desperately been wanting to do this with my own blog for ages! I want to change how dark it is, the theme suited my personality when I first started blogging but now I’d prefer something lighter and more simple. I’m planning on using the same pastel colours I’ve got now because they’re my fave (especially the blue and mint green) but the thing is, I’m so used to my old theme that taking the leap seems extremely scary and disconbobulating. I’ve been making changes behind the scenes, but I don’t think I will have time to implement anything until I finish my degree. This year has been SO busy. But once I finish I’m going to have a lot of fun playing with it! πŸ™‚

Congrats on updating your blog, it looks great! Also I would be happy to do a blog button swap if you like? (especially as we are often hanging round each other’s blogs anyway, we could support each other πŸ˜› )

    • I’d definitely recommend doing it when you have a chunk of free time, as you’ll want to play around and experiment, and once you get going it’s extremely addicting! I use Canva.com, it’s completely free! I would love to do a button swap with you! (exciting, this is my first one, haha!) Do you usually put them in your sidebar under like a “blogroll” section?

      • I’ve always used iPiccy and PicMonkey since I started blogging and only looked into Canva recently but ohh my gosh I find it SO CONFUSING. I suppose it’s like anything new though and you just have to get used to it, but I will definitely give it a go once I have the time. πŸ™‚ It’s fun to get creative.

Awesome! Yepp, it’s up to you where you want to put it really, but I usually put mine in my sidebar at the very end. πŸ™‚

        • I was REALLY intimidated by Canva and used picmonkey (the free version) but I was frustrated that I couldn’t save my images and go back in and tweak them without entirely re-creating them! I caught on with Canva eventually, it just takes a little time! Awesome, I’m adding yours now!

        • Yeah, I feel exactly the same way! The amount of times I’ve made something with them and have then realised later that it’s slightly off centre or that I want to reword something and can’t, grr.

I’ve just added your to my blog, yay for blogging buddies. πŸ™‚

  2. I really like the new header and matching button! Especially the shades of blue (I’m such a blue addict…)!
