sundayfundaySunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back!

Life

So many things happened this week! I took a mini-vacation in the middle of the week with my boyfriend and we saw one of our favorite musical groups, PostModern Jukebox! They do covers of popular songs in incredible arrangements based upon other decades (like a 1950’s version of “We Can’t Stop,” a 1920’s version of “Drunk in Love,” etc.) It was a dinner show at a gorgeous winery and afterwards we were able to meet with the creator of the project, Scott Bradlee, and one of the main singers, Robyn Adele Anderson, and they were both so nice and so inspiring!

Meanwhile my family rescued a new cat from our local animal shelter! She’s our fourth, and we got her as a playmate for our youngest cat who’s about a year old. She’s the sweetest cat, super personable and loves to be around people. She’s six months old, a full bred Ragdoll, and it’s been an ongoing debate all weekend as to what to name her (my dad’s partial to Sophie, my mom to Bella). photo 1

What I’m Reading & Watching

This week I read Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater as part of the Wolves of Mercy Falls Read-A-Long that I’m hosting with fellow bloggers Jackie at She Reads She Blogs and CK at CK’s Reading Corner. We’re SO excited to be hosting it and we’re doing a giveaway as well, so be sure to check it out and join the Read-A-Long as well!

shiverI’ll be working on Linger this week as well as The Truth About Alice which I got from the library this week. I hope to start Let It Snow soon as well.

The boyfriend and I have also started a new food network show (we’re obsessed with that network!), Holiday Baking Championship. It’s the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and it’s really fun to watch as it’s an ongoing competition with the same contestants rather than a different competition each episode.
