Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc!

This week I treated myself to three new books after finding each of them at some pretty great prices on Amazon! Trial By Fire was around only $9 (a steal for a brand new hardcover!) and I’ve heard almost all positive reviews about it so I decided it was worth investing in for my personal collection. I’ve had my eye on Let It Snow for a while since I picked up My True Love Gave to Me a few weeks ago, and finding it for $5 meant I couldn’t pass it up! And I FINALLY got my hands on The Retribution of Mara Dyer for just $11 (It was $16 when I thought about pre-ordering it last week-glad I waited!) I’m so so so excited about this one, seeing as the Mara Dyer trilogy is my favorite series I’ve read in 2014! As soon as I finish my two current reads (Throne of Glass and I’ll Give You the Sun) I’ll be diving straight into the last Mara Dyer book! I’d say $25 for three new books (two of which are hardcover) isn’t too bad!
Did you add any books to your shelves today? Have you read any of my additions? If so, what did you think? Were they worth the investment?
Mara Dyer trilogy is definitely on my list of “Books I seriously need to read already” list. Less than nine dollars is really good for a new hardcover. I bought a book kind of like that a couple months ago (Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid=$9.57).
I really enjoyed Let It Snow, hopefully you’ll like it too. I bought it for around $8 a few years ago, definitely worth the investment even if all the stories aren’t perfect. I realized My True Love Gave To Me doesn’t have a John Green story so I was kind of sad about that. Haha. I need to pick up that book.
I still need to finish Throne of Glass. It’s just so long. Lol. $25 is great for three books. Especially brand new ones. 🙂 I hope you love them all.
I’m just checking some books out at the library today, most of which I’ve had on hold for two weeks and now need to pick up, along with two others I found while browsing.
I’ve been reading Throne of Glass for quite a while too! Haha, I like it but it’s definitely kind of dense being high fantasy. Which books did you get out from the library? I HIGHLY recommend the Mara Dyer trilogy, especially if you enjoy paranormal!
I’ve been wanting to read Trial by Fire for so loooong! I loved Josephine Angelini’s Starcrossed trilogy so I can’t wait to read it! I hope you enjoy your fabulous new hard covers 🙂

I haven’t read anything by her yet but I’m really excited to start Trial by Fire! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
I’m eyeing Let it Snow myself 🙂
I’m really looking forward to it!
I saw Let It Snow the other day and really want to get it. I normally don’t read books related to the season, but I am starting to think maybe I want to.
I think it’s a nice change, and I think the short-story format is a good way to do it, since it’s all themed around just one holiday!
I hope you enjoy your new books. I love JG 🙂
Come and check out OUaT’s STS !
Thank you!
I got The Retribution this week too! I bought Trial by Fire (the UK edition, and it was only £3.89) so couldn’t pass it up either, obviously. 😉

I’ve heard such good things about Trial By Fire. I hope you like it. I’m interested to hear your thoughts of Throne of Glass. I have to get to that one. I got Exquisite Captives and The Killing Moon this week. Now I just need time to read them. 🙂
[…] you saw my Stacking the Shelves post this week you’ll know that I got a few bookish treats in the mail this week (thanks to […]
You sooo scored a deal here, that’s for sure!! $9 for a hardcover?!! *swoons* And Trial by Fire is AMAZING. (Although to be honest I keep going “Trail by Fire” which is waaaay less fierce and more like a pony ride gone wrong. *ahem*) And I have Let it Snow on my tbr too! Mine is just a library book and it has the most awful cover ever. It makes me sad. STILL. I hope the actual book is wonderful!
Thank you! I could not pass up a shiny new hardcover for $9 (the internet gets me into trouble when I can go online and compare prices every day…) but I’m glad “Trail” by Fire is so great, because I tend to put a lot of thought into investing in a book vs getting it from the library!
