Sunday Funday is generally a weekly(ish) post I started to recap my bookish and not-so-bookish thoughts. I’ve decided to expand this concept to monthly recaps during the last week of the month as well! As always, feel free to participate, just link back!
September 2014
Total Books Read: 6
Goodreads 2014 Reading Challenge Progress: 49/50 Books
Favorite Book Read in September: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
I had my issues with this book, but the mystery was so well crafted and the plot so shocking that I couldn’t help but speed through it!
Least Favorite Book Read in September: I enjoyed everything this month, but Oh Yeah, Audrey! could have used a bit more character development.
Book that Most Surprised Me in September: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I went so long without reading this fan favorite that I was pretty sure the hype would ruin it for me, but it was adorable.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn Review
“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.” – Confucius
1) I have been too excited to get into the swing of the holiday season! I’m looking forward to doing all of the quintessential fall stuff like apple picking, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, etc!
2) I went to the first wedding I’ve been too since I was a very small child, and it was delightfully fun and exciting and the cake was amazing. It was red velvet, my absolute favorite, to go with the color scheme (which I wasn’t aware of and ended up being the only non-wedding party member dressed in red).
3) I saw Gone Girl and it was fantastic- look for my post on my film thoughts this week!
That stinks: I’m just about to start my ARC of Oh Yeah, Audrey! Did the characters just fall flat?
I went to a wedding this month, too! Mine wasn’t fun though: no dancing. :/
It’s a cute story but it takes place over around a 24 hour time period so the characters just don’t have a lot of development, unfortunately
I only read four books last month, the best one being Young Elites. Are you dressing up for Halloween? I went to my first wedding in a long time last year, my cousins.
I’d like to dress up, but I haven’t found any Halloween-themed activities to do yet that call for costumes, and I don’t get many trick or treaters in my neighborhood. Hopefully an occasion will pop up though!
I hope so! I’m going into my mom’s classroom. 😉
