Stacking the Shelves [7]

Posted August 16, 2014 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Stacking the Shelves, Weekly Features/Memes / 6 Comments

STSnewStacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews where bloggers share the books that they’ve added to their shelves this week, whether borrowed, bought, virtual, physical, etc!

Borrowed:

alltheboys I’ve heard both good and bad things about this book, but it seems popular since I had to wait forever to finally get my turn with it from my library. I think the premise sounds really interesting, but I’m a bit wary about the maturity of the narrator. It will be my first read by Jenny Han though, and I’m excited to read her writing style!

papervalentineI’ll admit, what initially drew me to this book was the gorgeous cover, which I came across browsing another blogger’s STS post last week. I haven’t read anything by Yovanoff either but it seems to have a gothic-horror vibe that kind of reminds me of Masque of the Red Death. I’m also a sucker for anything YA paranormal, so I think that despite having more pressing library due dates for other books I have checked out, I’ll probably end up reading this one next!

Have you read either of these? Would you recommend them or were they a chore for you to get through? Let me know in the comments and link back to your STS post!

  1. I really want to read Paper Valentine, so I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on that one. I didn’t like To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (which you might have seen in my review), but I hope you do. I haven’t read anything else by Jenny Han so I didn’t have anything to compare it to.

    • I haven’t read anything else by Jenny Han either, but I’ve heard good things about her “Summer” series, so I may have to attempt those depending on how my experience with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before goes!
