This week is my last week at my summer job, which has kept me plenty busy the past two months. While I loved getting out of the house and having something to do, I’m excited to have some down time to focus on reading and blogging more, as well as starting the graduate school application program (and studying for the GRE…ahhh!) To celebrate the end of summer, I’m taking a mini-vacation next week but will have some posts scheduled for when I’m away!
This week has been a week of finishing series, as I read both Ruin and Rising (the last novel in the Grisha trilogy) as well as Opposition (the last installment in the Lux series). I’ve had such a journey with some great paranormal/fantasy series since I’ve started blogging, and it’s a bittersweet feeling. I really just have to process what happened for a bit before I can write my reviews (especially since most authors add an epilogue to wrap everything up nowadays, so I’m left processing what happened as well as envisioning the future the author has hinted at and how that could turn into a spinoff series…)
The Current Stack:
Obviously I have no self control when it comes to placing library holds. It always seems like “oh, it’ll be a few weeks until they come in, I’ll have caught up by then” and then BAM they all come in at once. Or I’ll stroll into the library innocently just to return a book and then I walk out with four more. Oops.
What Happened Here This Week:
Thursday: My spoiler-less-yet-still-informative review of the ambiguous We Were Liars.
Saturday: Stacking the Shelves!
Posts I Enjoyed:
The Loony Teen Writer mused over different library strategies.
Joey @ Thoughts and Afterthoughts discussed the standard of unique character names.
