Sunday Funday is a weekly(ish) post I’ve started to recap the bookish (and sometimes not-so-bookish) happenings in my life the past week! Feel free to participate, just link back!

June 16-June 22, 2014

I just ended the first two weeks of my summer job, which accounts for the slower pace of posts going up lately. Now that things have settled down and I’ve gotten back into the groove of working, I’ll be posting more regularly! I was also nominated this week for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, so thanks so much to Stefani from Caught Read Handed for nominating me!

I’m heading to Hawaii for vacation in the next few weeks, so I’ve been trying to power through my library books (I get anxious taking them on vacation where I could misplace or forget them). I’ve been facing the dilemna of deciding which books I want to bring with me (and that I’ll actually have time to read, as I learned my lesson after dragging like four hardcovers with me to London “just in case” I had down time, and ended up reading none of them). Right now I’m leaning towards bringing The Raven Boys, The Unbecoming of Mara Deyer, and Second Chance Summer, all paperbacks and all high up on my priority list!

Earlier this week I posted about attending the Scholastic Warehouse Book Sale and picked up seven new paperbacks! In addition, my local library system got in a bunch of the books I requested all at once! Love Letters to the Dead and An Abundance of Katherines are on hold for me and this past week I finished up my copy of Dreams of Gods and Monsters, review to come soon!

I had Linsey Leavitt’s newest novel on my list of Top Ten Books That Will Be in My Book Bag This Summer, so I was thrilled to quickly get it from my local library. I’m a little over a third of the way through, and my feelings toward it are lukewarm as of now. Hopefully the book takes a turn for the better!

Last week I purchased my own domain! While this isn’t a huge deal to a lot of blogs, for me it’s a step that shows the growth of my blog since I started blogging seriously in February! Thank you to everyone who follows and who’s been so encouraging through this journey, and you can now find me at my old URL as well as my new, updated URL girlinthepages.com!

I don’t watch a ton of TV, but I’ve been indulging in season 4 of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix, and have season 5 recording so I’m ready for it once I’ve finally caught up. I admit PLL was an instance in which I began the show before reading the books, and I read the first book after watching seasons 1&2 and found myself not that captivated by it, though I continue to love the show.
