Neglect

I know, I know. It’s so easy to get caught up in the crazy thing we call life and not even realize we’re neglecting things. I’m in the middle of moving, so my life has literally been a continuous cycle of packing boxes (mainly of clothes and books…). Although I picked up a book today at my local independent bookstore (yay for supporting the community 🙂 ) and I am so beyond excited to read it!

As I was perusing the aisle, overwhelmed as I usually am by the desire to read EVERY SINGLE BOOK, I ran into a lovely employee who is the shop’s YA guru. She made a point to ask what I was interested in and made a bunch of great recommendations for books I wouldn’t have necessarily been exposed to just from trolling amazon or goodreads. It was so cool to have someone who was so committed to making sure I found a book worth reading- something that I haven’t necessarily experienced with my summer reading picks so far.

So here’s a plug for finding the gems your local, independent bookstore has to offer, in the form of products and employees!
