The Masked Truth (4 Stars)

None of the Above (3 Stars)

Tiny Pretty Things (5 Stars)

Stats:

Total Novellas Read: 0

Rereads: 0

Favorite Book Read This Month: Tiny Pretty Things was utterly addicting! I cannot wait to get my hands on its sequel!

Least Favorite Book Read This Month: None of the Above was a bit of a let down since I had SUCH high expectations for it.

Book that Most Surprised Me This Month: Devoted by Jennifer Mathieu was really, really fantastic. I’ll speak more about it in my upcoming review, but I was pleasantly surprised on how it dealt with a loaded topic like religion in a critical way.

Updates About My Life This Month

This month was a big month for me because I finally overcame a bit of a fear of mine…having my wisdom teeth pulled! I’m glad to say it went well (although it’s going to be a while before everything is completely healed!) and the bed rest gave me time to read 3 whole books in one week, which definitely helped me have a strong-ish reading month (at least, strong since I now work full time).

Made You Up was a post-wisdom teeth surgery recovery present from the boyfriend!

I also joined the new reading app Litsy toward the end of the month, which I’m cautiously optimistic about, as it’s sort of a book-specific riff on Instagram with some added Goodreads-esque features. My username is GirlinthePages, please feel free to add me if you join as well!

I’m also proud to say that this month marked my second year of blogging! I hosted a giveaway where you could enter to win any book I’ve reviewed on my blog over the past two years, and will be announcing the winner this weekend!

The month ahead is going to be really busy with work, but there are some fun things happening too such as Max’s birthday, plans with friends and getting ever-closer to YALLWest! Also, thanks to the 2016 Love-A-Thon, I’ve made a lot of new bookish friends and come up with a LOT of new post and read-a-long ideas that I’m SO excited to share with you guys!

How did February treat you?

  1. I’m really looking forward to your review for Devoted. I’ve had my eyes on it ever since I read The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu but the religious theme scares me a little. I also just downloaded Litsy (my username’s schakarin). I’ve never heard of the app but I’m always happy to try new things. 🙂

    • I’m glad we’re Litsy friends! I’m still not exactly sure what I’m doing with the app to be honest, haha, but I’m having fun figuring it out! I’d really, really urge you to give Devoted a try! My review will be up Wednesday! 🙂

  2. Omg I was soooo afraid of getting my wisdom teeth out too! I waited longer than necessary and it was so less painful than I expected. I was even out at the grocery store within the first day. Whoops.

    • I probably should have gotten them pulled years ago as well, but I was *praying* they would come in straight (they didn’t haha!) The surgery itself was actually really easy, I had a harder time with the recovery (the lack of nutrition from the limited diet, jaw pain, etc). I close to back to normal now, but I’m still avoiding straws and excessively crunchy things!

  3. Well done on getting your wisdom teeth out! I hope it’s all healed up by now. I’ve been hearing about Litsy heaps, but I don’t really understand what it’s about?? I may have to download it and find out. I look forward to seeing your posts and read-a-longs come to life!

    • Thank you! I’m doing much better, but still being cautious 🙂 I’m not totally sure I understand Litsy as well to be honest, haha! It’s sort of like a combo of Bookstagram with a very limited Goodreads feel, if that makes sense? It’s a lot of posting pics of books with blurbs of what you thought about them, and you can “like” people’s photos and add books to your “stack” (which is essentially your TBR shelf). I really have just been figuring it out as I go along!
