Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added to my TBR

Posted March 30, 2015 by Cristina (Girl in the Pages) in Top Ten Tuesday, Weekly Features/Memes / 38 Comments

TTTcustombannerAs usual, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fantastic blog The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic was “Top Ten Books You’ve Recently Added to Your TBR.” My list this week is a mix of old, new, and upcoming releases, including full novels and novellas!

1) None of the Above– A really fascinating looking novel that focuses on a girl who finds out she’s intersex…and how that news impacts and changes her life.

2) Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between– I love Jennifer E, Smith’s romances, and I especially love how the cover of this one coordinates with her others!

3) Happy Again– A novella featuring what happens after with Graham and Ellie from This Is What Happy Looks Like.

4) The Wrong Side of Right I’m really interested in the political setting of this book! Plus, the cover is gorgeous!

5) Vanishing Girls I’m ready to give Lauren Oliver another chance after being underwhelmed by Delirium, and I love thrillers.

6) Heir of Fire- So I just finished Crown of Midnight last week and I need Heir of Fire in life. Immediately.

7) Vendetta– I’m interested in the “mob” aspect of this debut, and if the multiple brothers prove to be a cast full of swoon worthy male leads.

8) Passenger– I haven’t read anything by Bracken but I love historical fiction-time travel hybrids (it reminds me of Revolution by Jennifer Donnely which I loved) so I want to try this one!

9) Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda– Everyone is raving about this book!

10) A Darker Shade of Magic– Besides the fact that it combines London, magic, and parallel universes (all things that are total hooks for me) I feel like the only blogger who hasn’t read it yet!

What have you recently added to your TBR? Link me up in the comments!

  1. Great list! This is the second list I’ve seen None of the Above on, and it sounds really interesting. I still need to read A Darker Shade of Magic, too, and I love the sound of Passenger – I love historical fiction so it’s great to see more YA authors branching out into it, hopefully that’ll mean more people start reading the genre! 🙂

  2. I LOVE your list, and basically all of the books on it! The only two I haven’t heard of are Vendetta & Passenger. I still need to Crown of Midnight, but Heir of Fire is on mine too, and None of The Above!!! I am so sure this one will be phenomenal! Plus A Darker Shade of Magic and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda?!? AH So many good books!

  3. Heir of Fire is my favorite book in the series! Also, I loved Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda and A Darker Shade of Magic so you have some great reads in your future!
Passenger seems intriguing–I love time travel stories, so I’m very curious about it.

  4. I really want to read The Wrong Side of Right, too. I love the cover so much! I really disliked Vendetta. The brothers are definitely NOT swoon-worthy. But I’ve heard a lot of people love it, so I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

    • I always love getting people’s opinions on books whether good or bad, so I’m glad to hear your honest perspective on Vendetta (I still want to try it though!) The Wrong Side of Right just came in at my library so I can’t wait to go pick up my hold!

  5. NICE selection here^^ I’m actually reading ADSOM atm…I haven’t made it too too far but what I have read is very promising 😀 Oh and I hope you ADORE Heir of Fire as much as I did – if you need a shoulder to cry on afterwards though, let me know 🙂 Happy reading, here’s my TTT post this week!

  6. None of The Above sounds crazy interesting! I didn’t know that’s what it was about. Heir of Fire is quite different to the other books in the Throne of Glass series but I really loved it and I’m dying for the next three. I’ve heard good things about Vendetta and I’m interested in reading it because it’s an Irish author, and I definitely need a Schwab book in my life. I haven’t read any by her yet, but she seems to be getting quite a following! R x

      • Oh, another Irish author for you to try is Cecelia Ahern – either PS I Love You or Love, Rosie. I really liked those reads. In fact, I bawled my lamps out to PS I Love You! Lol R x

  7. So many of these books are one a I want to read such as None of the Above, Hello Goodbye and Everything In-between, The Homosapiens Agenda, The Wrong Side Of Right and oh my gosh, HEIR OF FIRE. Currently waiting for that to come in the mail! Great list!

  8. I really, really want to pick up Passenger now! I haven’t read any of her work, but I want to do that as well. ADSOM made it onto my list as well! I’ve heard mixed things about Vanishing Girls, but since I haven’t read any of Lauren Oliver, I want to try to pick it up.

  9. None of The Above is so good! I’m so so so excited for Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between, I’ve only read Statistical by her, although I own Happy and Geography too. I love her black and white + colors too. <3 Yay for Wrong Side of Right and Simon! <3 I bought the first and pre-ordered the second.<3 So excited. Like you, I'm interested in the political aspect. Everyone IS raving about Simon, it's insanity. I also want to read Vanishing Girls. 🙂 All the books in my TTT haven't come out yet, haha.

  10. Heir of Fire is so so good! I’ve been hoping to read more of Jennifer E. Smith’s books after I read The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and liked it. Happy reading!
